Kawasaki Puccetti #racing team rider #canoncu continued his road to recovery from a long term left arm injury by #racing in the first of two WorldSSP contests at Motorland Aragon. He finished Race One in 17th place on what was a tough day for some of his colleagues.

Still building back strength in his injured left arm Can understood that the heavily left-handed Motorland Aragon circuit would be a particularly stiff test for him to face on his Ninja ZX-6R. It proved to be the case in Superpole qualifying when he was 20th on the grid.

In the race itself, which started at 15.15 CET, he went on to finish 17th, ending the day just outside the points scoring positions.

One more 15-lap WorldSSP race remains at Motorland Aragon, on Sunday September 24, which will start at the earlier time of 12.30 CET.

Can Öncü, stated: “The race result doesn’t reflect where we’d normally be, but we’re not yet in a position to fight at the front. The positive side is that, with respect to the previous Magny Cours comeback races, we finished ten seconds closer to the leaders. This confirms our progress. With its many left-hand corners, this track is really putting me to the test physically, but tomorrow I’ll try to further close the gap to the quickest guys. I’m working hard to get back to full fitness and my usual level. I am continuing to take steps forward thanks also to the amazing support of my team.”

Adrian Huertas (MTM Kawasaki) qualified sixth in Superpole but had to retire in the race after a technical issue arose on lap ten. He is still inside the championship top ten and has one more opportunity at Motorland to move back up the points table before the next round at Portimao.

Vince64 by Puccetti #racing Kawasaki rider Leonardo Taccini was 23rd at Motorland Aragon in his first race for the team.

Tom Booth-Amos (Motozoo ME AIR #racing Kawasaki) had to retire from the race with a technical problem on lap six. Luke Power (Motozoo ME AIR #racing Kawasaki) was 22nd in the first race and Yuta Okaya (Prodina Kawasaki Racing) 24th.
