Line-up for Festival of Speed confirmed

Reserve driver #mickschumacher will pilot the team's W02, the car his father Michael raced in the 2011 season, at the #goodwoodfestivalofspeed (14-16 July). The 24-year-old, who is attending the festival for the first time, will be present on both Saturday and Sunday.

Fans will also have the opportunity to witness the team's 2021 World Champion car, the W12, race up the mountain with Esteban Gutiérrez at the wheel.

Mick said: "It's going to be spectacular to drive my father's 2011 car, the W02, even if it's just a short run. Just experiencing this generation of cars is going to be awesome! Knowing he's driving this car has driven makes it very special and it will bring a lot of emotions.I've been lucky enough to drive one of his Benetton cars and some of his Ferraris but this will be my first time behind the wheel of one Mercedes he was driving. I'm sure I'll get out with a big smile on my face."

The W02 was the second car designed and built by Mercedes Grand Prix after the team's purchase in 2009. It was driven by Michael and Nico Rosberg and was a regular in points results en route to fourth place in the Constructors' Championship. With Michael at the wheel, the car achieved a best result of fourth place at the Canadian Grand Prix.

The W12 hardly needs any introduction. Driven by Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas, the car claimed 9 wins and 19 more podiums in an exceptional 2021 season. The team thus secured a record-breaking eighth Constructors' title in a row.

Fans can get a close-up look at both cars in the F1 pit lane from Friday to Sunday. More information on the team's activities at Goodwood will be announced in due course.
