Comunicato Stampa disponibile solo in lingua originale.

ASA #seat is launching a new #collaboration with the #photographicsocialvisionfoundation, which organises the prestigious international photojournalism exhibition: #worldpressphotobarcelona2022. On 4 November the space will be hosting #lalodealmeida, the winning photographer of the Long Term Project, at a conference in which he will explain Distopía Amazónica, the award-winning work he has been developing since 2013.

Distopía Amazónica portrays the process of destruction of the Brazilian Amazon and exposes the threat that this territory is undergoing, due to deforestation, mining, infrastructure development and the depletion of natural resources through overexploitation.  All the photographs of this work will be projected during the #event, which will complement the selection made by World Press Photo 2022 in the exhibition on display at the CCCB (Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona), which will remain until XX December.

The #tedxbarcelonaawards in support of entrepreneurs

The #tedxbarcelonaawards gala is taking place on 16 November, an initiative that was created with the aim of supporting ideas that generate value for citizens. The most relevant projects will receive awards based on sustainable development goals (Agenda 2030).

A panel of experts, led by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catañunya President Marta Subirà, is participating in the selection process, which will choose the finalist projects based on the innovative nature of the proposals and their link to the city of Barcelona and its surroundings.

From 2 November, the TEDx Barcelona community will be able to choose the winners through the voting system on the organisation’s website. The results will be announced at the gala at CASA #seat on the evening of Wednesday the 16th, and the awards will be presented in the presence of the public and the press.

Literature, tributes and concerts in the auditorium

A literary café opens the month’s cultural agenda on the 4th with the writer Vicente Luis Mora, who will be talking about his new book, Circular 22 (Galaxia Gutenberg, 2022), in which he considers the world as a literary genre.

On the 5th, El 600, un sueño sobre ruedas (Larousse, 2022) by #javiermartin will be presented. The book tells the story of the car that put Spain on wheels. In a rare gesture, the first 100 #people who book their tickets will receive a signed copy of the book from the author.

Subsequently, a new meeting of The New Barcelona Post’s Moments Estelars cycle will be held on the 7th, dedicated to #carmebalcells. The journalist Toni Aira will talk with writer Carme Riera about Balcells’ career, a key figure in Hispanic literature who is considered one of the driving forces behind the Latin American boom.

The musical agenda will include a variety of proposals, including the new Flaixbac showcase by Nil Moliner, who in just three years has become one of the most important voices on the national scene. Moliner will be joined by the band The Tyets, who will open the concert on the 24th.

The exhibition Solar Portraits, by Rubén Salgado Escudero, will run until 18 November. It will be an opportunity for those who want to travel through photographic portraits that advocate the use of solar energy and that have been published in prestigious magazines such as National Geographic.

Finally, patrons of the CASA #seat by Ametller Origen restaurant will be able to enjoy the Lux Natura installation that the artist Raül Beteta has created for the space, featuring branches of metal tubes that trace the silhouette of a large tree, sprouting leaves and flowers that move and change colour randomly.

All the activities at CASA #seat are free of charge with prior reservation of admission at www.casa.seat
