Return to #japan:Formula One returned to the #suzuka International #racing Course last weekend for the first time since 2019. Friday's free practice sessions took place in rainy conditions, but Saturday was then dry and pleasant. The wet weather returned for Sunday's race, leading to a lengthy interruption shortly after the start. In a shortened race, #lewishamilton and #georgerussell finished fifth and eighth respectively. As in Singapore the week before, Lewis did not spend any laps in free air and was unable to show the true pace of the W13. After the restart, the team opted for a double stack pit-stop, with George having to take his turn behind Lewis. As a result, he lost time changing from Wets to Intermediates. He then pulled off a number of impressive overtaking moves to eventually cross the finish line in P8. In the Constructors' Championship, the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team is in third place, 67 points behind Ferrari, with four races to go. The next round will be contested at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, on the weekend of 21 - 23 October.

Victory and manufacturers' title at the #indianapolis 8 Hours:A win in the penultimate race of the 2022 Intercontinental GT Challenge was enough for Mercedes-AMG to wrap up the manufacturers' championship ahead of time. The Craft-Bamboo #racing trio of #danieljuncadella (ESP), #raffaelemarciello (SUI) and #danielmorad (CAN) sharing the cockpit of the number 77 Mercedes-AMG GT3 fought their way up from 15th on the grid to finish first at the #indianapolismotorspeedway. It was the fourth win in a row for Mercedes-AMG in this intercontinental championship. Philip Ellis (SUI), Jules Gounon (FRA) and Russel Ward at the wheel of the #33 WINWARD #racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 crossed the line a respectable fourth overall. Second place in the Pro-Am category for Kenny Habul (AUS) and Martin Konrad (AUT) was also enough for the pairing to clinch the drivers' title in their class with one race to spare.

Lucas Auer and Mercedes-AMG finish season as DTM runners-up:On the final DTM race weekend at the Hockenheimring, Mercedes-AMG Team WINWARD driver #lucasauer (AUT) won a dramatic first race on Saturday from pole position. Abandonment of the second qualifying session on Sunday combined with the additional ballast as per regulations put #lucasauer at a considerable disadvantage on Sunday, with the result that he finished the last race of the season in seventh position and had to content himself with the runner-up spot in the drivers' championship. It also meant that Mercedes-AMG came second in the manufacturers' championship. Luca Stolz (GER) of Mercedes-AMG Team HRT likewise finished in the points in both races. Mercedes-AMG Team Mücke Motorsport and Maximilian Buhk (GER) recorded their best result of the season with a P10 on Sunday.

Podium for BWT Mücke Motorsport in the DTM Trophy:At the Hockenheimring, Edouard Cauhaupé (FRA) celebrated yet another Top Three finish in the DTM Trophy with a P2 in the first race, thereby securing third position in the team championship for BWT Mücke Motorsport. Team-mate Rodrigo Almeida (POR) driving the BWT Mücke Motorsport sister car also finished in the points with a P8 and a P7 in the two 30-minute races. Selleslagh #racing go into the winter break with the satisfaction of having seen Alexandre Papadopulos (USA) scoring championship points for a P9 and a P10. The guest entrants from Team CV Performance acquitted themselves well in the finale: Nico Gruber (GER) driving the #85 Mercedes-AMG GT4 put in a strong performance to finish fifth and tenth. His team-mate, Philippe Denes (USA) in the #84, finished eighth in the second race of the weekend and likewise in the points.

George Kurtz victorious again at the GT America finale:George Kurtz (USA) and his CrowdStrike #racing by Riley Motorsports team had already been crowned GT America champions ahead of the finale in #indianapolis. With two overall victories in the last two races, the American pro once again underlined his dominance in the series and extended his commanding lead in the championship even further.

Runners-up in GT4 America:In the final rounds of the 2022 GT3 America at the #indianapolismotorspeedway, Gavin Sanders (CAN) and Michai Stephens (USA) in the number 34 Conquest Racing/ JMF Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT4 registered a brace of P2 finishes in the Silver category to lift the runner-up trophy in their class. The Conquest #racing driver pairing of Paulo Carcasci and Custodio Toledio (both BRA) meanwhile celebrated second place in the AM class in the first race.

Class victory in the seventh round of the Nürburgring Endurance Series:In round seven of the Nürburgring Endurance Series, Waldow Performance once again secured victory in the SP10 class for GT4-homologated cars. On their fourth outing in this tradition-steeped #racing series, Andreas Patzelt, Janis Waldow (both GER) and Ersin Yücesan (TUR) in the number 177 Mercedes-AMG GT4 took their third class win, finishing a full lap ahead of the rest of the field. Meanwhile, Carrie Schreiner and Peter Terting (both GER) in the number 2 Mercedes-AMG GT3 fielded by Schnitzelalm #racing took fourth overall and third place in the SP9 Pro class.

Runner-up trophy in Italy:Emidio Pesce (ITA) and Jop Rappange (NED) finished second in the GT3 PRO-AM Endurance classification of the 2022 Italian GT Championship. In the final round at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, they were sharing the cockpit of the number 44 Mercedes-AMG GT3 with Italian woman driver Francesca Linossi. A sixth-place finish in class was enough for the Antonelli Motorsport pairing to lift the runner-up trophy for their outfit.

Triple triumph to round off the GT Cup Championship season:On the final race weekend of the British GT Cup Championship held at Snetterton Motor #racing Circuit, the Mercedes-AMG Customer #racing teams once again celebrated overall victories as well as class wins. In both of Sunday's 25- and 50-minute races, the #36 Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Cook Motorsport took overall victory. In the first sprint race of the day, the #11 car of RAM #racing finished third and also among the overall podium placings. The number 39 Mercedes-AMG GT4 of Team Track Focused was victorious in the GTH category.

Podium finishes in virtual motorsport:In the world of virtual #racing, Mercedes-AMG Motorsport again made it onto the podium last weekend. In the Le Mans Virtual Series, which staged its second race of the season over four hours at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, Mercedes-AMG Team Williams Esports took second place overall. P8 overall for Mercedes-AMG Team Petronas Esports rounded off a highly respectable performance. The Mercedes-AMG E-Sports teams also enjoyed success in the iRacing Special #event Petit Le Mans. On a virtual Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, Mercedes-AMG E-Sports Team URANO eSports and Mercedes-AMG E-Sports Team Williams Esports both acquitted themselves well. The #91 Mercedes-AMG GT3 of URANO eSports finished the ten-hour race in third position, followed by the #7 Williams Esports in fourth. The second #90 Mercedes-AMG GT3 entered by URANO eSports rounded off a solid overall result with tenth place.
