CUPRA continues its expansion plan with the opening of a #cupra City Garage of 2022 in Lisbon, one of Europe’s major cultural centres.The opening comes at a special moment for #cupra, as it celebrates its 4th anniversary this month.
Following Mexico City, Hamburg, Munich, Milan and now Lisbon, #cupra continues to consolidate its expansion strategy with the upcoming inauguration of the #cupra Garage in Rotterdam and also Sydney, among others to come.

In the heart of Lisboa
This open and dynamic space, inspired by the Portuguese capital, is located between Praça do Comércio (Terreiro do Paço) and Praça D. Pedro IV - Rossio, in one of the most historic and lively areas of the city of the 7 hills. It is a unique cultural and contemporary destination, offering an exclusive experience where you can live the #cupra brand with all senses.
The #cupra Garage consists of two seperate areas that feature the building’s distinctive character and structural features. The ground floor is dedicated to public exhibitions, and gastronomic and lifestyle events, while the basement is a modular and multidisciplinary space for private events and business meetings. With interchangeable furnishings, the spaces can be adapted for bespoke events.
CUPRA exceeds expectations
Since its birth just four years ago, and despite the pandemic, #cupra has exceeded all initial expectations. In 2021, #cupra tripled its sales, reaching a volume of 79,300 vehicles, 189.4% more than in 2020 (27,400) thanks to the Formentor. 41% of CUPRA's sales in the last 12 months were electrified vehicles.
The brand is already present in European markets such as Germany, Spain, the UK and France, and is expanding to countries such as Mexico, Israel and Turkey. This year, the brand will start operations in Australia as a strategic step towards expansion in the Asia-Pacific region.
CUPRA is a benchmark in electromobility, winning more than 30 international awards in 2021 alone. The #cupra Born, the brand’s first s 100% electric car, was shortlisted as one of the seven finalists in the 2022 European Car of the Year awards. This was the second consecutive year that a #cupra model has been shortlisted, following the #cupra Formentor in 2021.
The electric future of the brand will continue with the #cupra Tavascan, that will arrive in 2024 and the #cupra UrbanRebel will challenge the conventions of the electric era with its emotional interpretation of the company’s urban electric car, due to be launched in 2025.
