Two legendary drivers for 2022 ABT CUPRA XE team to be unveiled at hybrid event

CUPRA this week will unveil its driver line-up for its second season in #extremee at an event held at the brand’s headquarters in Martorell, Spain. The unveiling will be broadcast simultaneously online on 3 February, and will be hosted by motorsport broadcaster Jennie Gow, with the ABT CUPRA XE team revealing its plans for the season. With two legendary drivers set to be announced, the event promises to be a major statement of intent from the team.
The two drivers, with multiple Dakar wins under their belt, will be announced to the world alongside CUPRA’s new all-electric off-road vehicle, designed to reflect CUPRA’s DNA and passion for electric motorsport. CUPRA has been part of #extremee from the outset. It was the first automotive brand to announce its participation in 2020, joining forces with ABT Sportsline as the team’s main partner.
The new drivers and car will be joined at the event by #antoninolabate, Director of Strategy, Business Development & Operations at CUPRA; #xaviserra, Head of CUPRA #racing; and #hansjurgenabt, Managing Partner at ABT Sportsline.
With the first round of the season scheduled 18-20 February in Neom (Saudi Arabia), the CUPRA team’s unveiling will be the perfect warm up event for the season. The event will be held next Thursday, 3rd February at 3:00pm CET via YouTube Live (https://youtu.be/okhxCxy9tOA).
