› Two ŠKODA #auto apprentices receive Volkswagen Group award for outstanding achievement
› Optimal training and further education has been a tradition at the company-run vocational school since 1927

Mladá Boleslav, 6 December 2021 – Two ŠKODA #auto apprentices have been presented with the Volkswagen Group’s Best Apprentice Award 2021 for their outstanding achievements. The up-and-coming professionals, who completed their vocational training last year, are among the 50 best apprentices in the Group worldwide.

Maren Gräf, ŠKODA #auto Board Member for People and Culture, emphasises, “ŠKODA #auto sets standards in the training and further education of its employees. The training programmes at our company’s vocational school are recognised for their high quality and strong practical relevance. Optimal training is the foundation for further career development, and motivated and qualified young professionals are the fundamental prerequisite for our continued success. We are proud that Pavlína Rohlíčková and Marek Sučík, two of our apprentices, are among the 50 most talented graduates in the Group worldwide and we warmly congratulate both of them on their achievement.”

Every year, the Volkswagen Group presents the Best Apprentice Award to the 50 most talented apprentices, honouring their outstanding professional competence and performance. The award winners traditionally include two students from the ŠKODA #auto vocational school who have graduated within the past year and are now working for the Czech car manufacturer. This year, Pavlína Rohlíčková and Marek Sučík were delighted to receive the award. Pavlína Rohlíčková completed her training as an electronics technician in June 2020 and now works for the car manufacturer as a mechanic, specialising in electronic equipment. Marek Sučík graduated as a machining mechanic and now works as a setter at the main plant in Mladá Boleslav.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the awards ceremony was not held in Wolfsburg this year as usual, but was held online on 3 December. The two graduates of the ŠKODA vocational school received their awards at the headquarters of the KOVO trade union in Mladá Boleslav. Alongside its chairman Jaroslav Povšík and Maren Gräf, Alois Kauer, Head of the ŠKODA Academy, and Martin Slabihoudek, Head of the ŠKODA #auto Vocational School, congratulated the award winners in person.

ŠKODA #auto has a long tradition of investing heavily in training and development. As part of its vocational training, the company places particular emphasis on future-oriented technologies. In addition to in-company training, apprentices at ŠKODA #auto have the opportunity to complete an internship abroad at another Group brand. The ŠKODA vocational school in Mladá Boleslav opened its doors in 1927 with 58 students at the time. Today, almost 900 apprentices are enrolled on 15 full-time training courses and three postgraduate programmes at the ŠKODA Academy, almost 13 per cent of whom are women.
