Comunicato Stampa disponibile solo in lingua originale.

  • New company opens up on 1 December 2021 in seven countries
  • Start planned in 2022 and 2023 in other worldwide markets
  • Focus on #truck and bus customers for sales support of #daimler #truck with leasing, financing and insurance
  • Daimler #truck Financial Services will become one of the largest financial #service provider for commercial vehicles in the world, with around 1900 employees in 16 countries and a contract portfolio of around 21 billion euros
  • Opportunities for future growth by means of further expansion and also new products in the field of electrification or usage-based services (pay-as-you-drive)

Daimler #truck Financial Services (DTFS) is a newly founded company and it starts business on 1 December 2021 in Australia, Brazil, Japan, Canada, Mexico, South Africa and the USA. In 2022, the financial #service provider plans market launches in Argentina, Belgium and the Netherlands, the UK, Italy, Spain and Turkey. By end of 2022 contract portfolio with leasing, financing and insurance is expected to be around 21 billion euros. In 2023, the planned ramp-up of Germany and France will contribute to further growth. After this launch, DTFS will be one of the world's largest financial services providers, specialising in serving commercial vehicle customers – with approximately 1900 employees in 16 countries.

"We built up #daimler #truck Financial Services in the record time of only ten months with the spirit of a start-up. With our financial services we will support the sales of all #truck and bus brands of #daimler #truck," said Stephan Unger, Member of the Board of Management of #daimler #truck AG for Financial Services, and CEO of DTFS.

In addition to expansion opportunities, there are chances to grow into further markets, also with new financial products and services in addition to the traditional financing and leasing business. This includes usage-based and flexible pay-as-you-drive services such as dynamic leasing or dynamic insurance. The product "Dynamic Lease" will be offered right from the start in Japan and the USA. "Dynamic Insurance" is before an initial pilot phase. What's more, the shift in the transport business to e-mobility offers dynamic growth potential with new financial services in fields such as charging, e-infrastructure and battery leasing. Other future business opportunities will open up in fleet management or from the integration of connectivity services such as payment systems.

DTFS is a division of #daimler #truck Group. The company is being created by a spin-off from the #daimler Mobility segment in the course of the realignment of #daimler for trucks and buses on the one hand, and passenger cars and vans on the other. Today, every fourth #truck or bus from #daimler is financed or leased via Daimler's own financial services. In the medium term, DTFS wants to raise this to 30 percent. The company, as an independent division for #truck and bus financial services, can fully concentrate on the investment goods business with means of transport, which follows different rules to businesses centred on passenger car retail customers. At DTFS, the organisation, product development, sales, systems and processes will concentrate entirely on commercial vehicle customers and form an integral part of #daimler #truck.

DTFS is coordinated and controlled by #daimler #truck Financial Services GmbH (DTFS GmbH). DTFS GmbH is based in Leinfelden-Echterdingen near Stuttgart. The Board of Management consists of Stephan Unger (CEO), Eva-Marie Lander (CFO), Bernd Barth (Region Europe & South America), Richard Howard (Region North America & Asia) and Dr Kerstin Neumann (Legal/Compliance).
