Facts & figures from Qatar: The third instalment of the last triple-header on this year's #f1 calendar took the premier class of motorsport to Qatar for the first time in its history last weekend. The first ever Grand Prix at the Losail International Circuit was dominated by Lewis Hamilton. The seven-time World Champion secured pole position in Qatar on Saturday, his 102nd in #f1 and his 76th as a member of the Mercedes #f1 Team. On Sunday, Lewis followed up with a comfortable victory in the inaugural Qatar GP. His 102nd win in #f1 and his 81st for the team served to reduce the gap in the Drivers' World Championship to eight points. The Mercedes-AMG Petronas #f1 Team now goes into the final two races of the season with a five-point lead in the Constructors' World Championship. Valtteri Bottas was dogged by bad luck in the race. After a poor start from the dirty side of the grid and initially dropping back to eleventh place, he staged a strong recovery to get himself back into contention for a podium but was ultimately thwarted by a puncture on lap 33. The penultimate race of the #f1 campaign takes the series to another new and unfamiliar track - the Jeddah Corniche Circuit which will host the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix on the weekend of 3 ‑ 5 December.

Here we go again: Three and a half months (or more precisely 106 days) after claiming the first all-electric title double in the history of motorsport, the Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team returns to the track next week in Spain. From 29 November to 2 December, the teams will be engaged in three days of testing (Wednesday 1 December will be a rest day) at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo just outside Valencia as part of the official build-up to the 2021/22 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. The rival teams will be coming up against each other on the race track for the first time since the season finale in Berlin. There will be two test sessions on the first two test days - morning 9:00 to 12:00 CET and afternoon 14:00 to 17:00 CET - and only one extended session on the final day running from 09:00 to 15:00 CET. The Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team will be organising a launch event in Valencia on Sunday 28 November, at which it will present its two drivers and unveil the Mercedes-EQ Silver Arrow 02 for the coming season.

Title hat-trick for Mercedes-AMG Motorsport in Sands China Macau GT Cup: Mercedes-AMG Motorsport celebrated its third consecutive race win in the Macau GT Cup thanks to a brilliant team performance from Craft-Bamboo #racing. Darryl O'Young (HKG) in the number 95 Mercedes-AMG GT3 took first place in the second of the two races at the spectacular Guia Circuit. An incident on the fourth lap of Saturday's opening race looked as if it might have put paid to O'Young's ambition of a second victory at this event, a feat that had only been achieved by four drivers before him. Lying in P2, O'Young skidded on oil leaked from another car and smashed into the barriers. The race was red-flagged and O'Young was classified second. The fact that he was able to line up again on Sunday's was due to the excellent work through the night of the Craft-Bamboo #racing mechanics who managed to get the Mercedes-AMG GT3 roadworthy again. O'Young repaid the superhuman effort of his crew by delivering a commanding victory in the 12-lap race. After a perfectly executed overtaking manoeuvre at the start, he was able to defend the lead against the opposition all the way to the finish line. Luo Kailuo (CHN) in the #99 car fielded by Toro #racing also made two podium appearances, finishing third in both races.

Two podium finishes in the Greater Bay Area GT Cup: The Greater Bay Area GT Cup for GT4 cars also shared the billing with the Sands China Macau GT Cup. Tsz Nok Mok (HKG) in the number 79 Mercedes-AMG GT4 of Z‑Challenger #racing Team made two podium appearances. After taking third place in Saturday's eight-lap race, Mok went one better in Sunday's 12-lap contest, finishing as runner-up.

Local favourite in a Mercedes-AMG GT4 features twice on Abu Dhabi podium: Mercedes-AMG Motorsport also celebrated two Top Three results in the NGK UAE Procar Championship at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. Driving the number 79 Mercedes-AMG GT4 of Dragon #racing 88, Omar Al Mheiri (UAE) took third place in the 17-lap opening race, and three hours later over the same distance improved to second in Race 2.

Class podium in the Winter Endurance Championship: There was further success to report for an Affalterbach-built car in the Netherlands, where Circuit Zandvoort was the venue for the Winter Endurance Championship. Maxime Oosten and Bernhard van Oranje-Nassau (both NED) sharing the cockpit of the number 207 Mercedes-AMG GT4 fielded by Bas Koeten #racing finished the 118-lap race in fifth place overall, equivalent to second place in their class.
