Friederike Kienitz is promoted to Senior Vice President, Sustainability, Corporate Governance, Legal, External Affairs and Communications, in a newly created role that joins together strategic corporate management functions.

Friederike’s new role builds on her current responsibilities, which include oversight of the Legal, External Government Affairs and Communications functions, and adds Corporate Governance, Corporate Risk Management, Compliance, and DOA & Policies. She also will continue to lead the advancement of Sustainability and Diversity, which are fundamental to the company’s vision.

Guillaume Cartier, Chairperson, Nissan AMIEO Region, said: “Friederike is known throughout the business for her strategic vision, for always championing diversity, and for her dedication to moving the company towards a more sustainable future of mobility.”

Anish Baijal is appointed Global Vice President, HR, General Affairs & Transformation AMIEO, and Global Organization Development & Corporate Culture, leading Human Resources across AMIEO. Anish will also lead General Affairs for the region and will keep global responsibility for organizational development and corporate culture transformation.

Anish has served in many parts of the world, including in Europe, the US and most recently at the company’s global headquarters in Yokohama, Japan, where he has been serving as Global Vice President, Organizational Development and Corporate Culture.

In this role, Anish will oversee key strategic projects to ensure successful execution of our regional transformation plan, as well as drive a one-team approach across the diverse AMIEO region. The role is also key to developing a stronger corporate culture, through championing the Nissan Way company values and driving workplace improvements. His mission also will include attracting, retaining and growing the right talent to guarantee we are ready for the electrification era.

Guillaume Cartier said: “Anish is an experienced Nissan leader with an expertise in corporate culture and who brings a genuine, global understanding of culture diversity, which is vital for growing our highly diverse AMIEO region.”

“With great new products and technologies coming to market, Friederike and Anish are entering their roles at an exciting time for Nissan in AMIEO. This region is full of potential, and we have the right leadership team in place to build a bright, sustainable and profitable long-term future,” Guillaume Cartier said.

Friederike and Anish both will be based at Nissan Automotive Europe in Montigny-le-Bretonneux, France, serving as key members of the Regional Management Committee and reporting to Guillaume Cartier. The appointments are effective November 15.
