Mladá Boleslav, 4 November 2021 – ŠKODA #auto is supporting the Czech Republic’s participation at EXPO 2020* in the United Arab Emirates as a partner. The car manufacturer
is providing Czech Commissioner-General Jiří František Potužník with an all-electric SUV for the duration of the World EXPO. The World EXPO is being held under the banner ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’ and is dedicated primarily to the topics of sustainability and mobility.

Martin Jahn, ŠKODA #auto Board Member for Sales and Marketing, emphasises, “As a partner of the Czech Republic’s contribution to EXPO 2020 in #dubai, we will be able to present our company to a global audience on an international stage. The motto ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’ and the focus on sustainability and mobility are in perfect alignment with our #corporate strategy NEXT LEVEL – ŠKODA STRATEGY 2030. This is why we are presenting our ŠKODA iV for the first time in this region as part of the World EXPO, underlining our clear commitment to an electric future for individual mobility.”

ŠKODA is providing the Czech Commissioner General of the World EXPO with a ŠKODA iV for the duration of EXPO 2020*. The all-electric SUV is the first model from the Czech car manufacturer to be delivered to customers with a CO2-neutral balance sheet. This makes it ideally suited to the focus of the world exhibition; under the banner ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’, the exhibition spotlights the issues of sustainability and mobility. Sustainability will be the focus of the Czech Republic’s pavilion, where visitors can find out how water vapour can be extracted from the air in the desert using solar energy and innovative technologies, and how fertile land can ultimately be created.
