Kawasaki Puccetti Racing – Oettl è primo nelle libere di Jerez. Incredibile settimo posto per Sofuog
Il circuito Angel Nieto di #jerez in Spagna ospita questo fine settimana il nono round del #worldssp. Per il #kawasakipuccettiracing questo è un appuntamento particolare, non solo perché ci si avvicina al termine della stagione, ma soprattutto perché #kenansofuoglu oggi è tornato in pista sulla Ninja ZX-6R della squadra di Manuel Puccetti per disputare le prime due sessioni di prove libere. Il cinque volte Campione del Mondo Supersport ha deciso di salutare in questo modo la fine del #worldssp così come era stato sin dalla prima stagione del 1999 e nello stesso tempo di dare il benvenuto alla nuova Supersport, quella che inizierà il prossimo anno con la grande novità dell'allargamento a nuove cilindrate e a nuove #moto.
Nel primo turno di libere di questa mattina ottima la prestazione di Philipp Oettl che ha fatto segnare il miglior tempo in 1'42"249. Buono anche il nono tempo di assoluto di Oncu (1'43"633). Sofuoglu ha sfruttato questa prima sessione per ritrovare il feeling con la sua Ninja e con la pista andalusa, e con il tempo di 1'44"715 ha terminato in diciottesima posizione.
La seconda sessione ha preso il via nel pomeriggio, sotto un cielo nuvoloso ma su pista asciutta. Oettl (1'42"509) non ha migliorato il suo crono del mattino, ma nessuno ha fatto meglio di lui ed il tedesco ha quindi chiuso al primo posto nella classifica cumulativa delle due sessioni. Fantastica prova di #kenansofuoglu che non scendeva in pista da oltre tre anni, ma che fermando il cronometro sul tempo di 1'43"905 ha concluso la sua giornata al settimo posto assoluto!.
Can Oncu (1'43"131) ha lavorato con il suo team all'assetto della sua Ninja, migliorando di mezzo secondo il tempo del mattino e confermando la sua nona posizione.
Domani scenderanno in pista solamente Oettl e Oncu, per disputare la Superpole e la prima gara del nono round #worldssp di #jerez.

Kenan Sofuoglu: "Mi sono divertito tanto e mi ha fatto piacere constatare che molte persone sono state contente di rivedermi in pista. Sono sinceramente stupito di essere stato così veloce e della mia settima posizione finale, perché ho smesso di correre oltre tre anni fa e da allora non sono più salito su una #moto da corsa. Questa mattina ho iniziato con calma per ritrovare il feeling con la #moto e la pista, e nel pomeriggio mi sono migliorato e sono davvero soddisfatto. Voglio ringraziare il team Puccetti perché è sempre un piacere lavorare con loro. Io amo questa squadra e senza di loro non sarei tornato in pista".

The Angel Nieto circuit in #jerez, Spain, is hosting the ninth #worldssp round. For #kawasakipuccettiracing, this is a special #event, not only because the season finale is fast approaching, but particularly because #kenansofuoglu returned to the track today with the team's Ninja ZX-6R to take part in the two free practice sessions. The five-time Supersport world champion did this as a way to bid farewell to #worldssp as it has been since its first season in 1999, while also welcoming a new Supersport era, one that will begin next year with the arrival of new engine sizes and new bikes.
In the morning's first practice, Philipp Oettl put in an excellent performance to set the outright fastest lap, a 1'42"249. Oncu also did well to place ninth (1'43"633). Sofuoglu used this first session to regain feeling with his Ninja and the Andalusian track, a best of 1'44"715 placing him eighteenth at the session's end.
The second session rain in the afternoon under cloudy skies but on a dry track. Oettl (1'42"509) was unable to improve on his morning's time, but no one was in fact able to better that and so he finished in first place in the day's combined standings. #kenansofuoglu had a fantastic session. Despite having not ridden for more than three years, the Turkish rider set a 1'43"905 which saw him round out the day in seventh place overall!
Can Oncu (1'43"131) worked on the set-up of his Ninja together with his team, improving on his morning's best by half a second to confirm ninth place.
Tomorrow Oettl and Oncu will return to the track for Superpole and the first of the races making up this ninth #worldssp round at #jerez.

Kenan Sofuoglu: "I had so much fun and was pleased that #people were happy to see me back on track. I'm actually shocked as to how fast I was, and the fact I finished seventh, because I stopped #racing over three years ago and haven't been on a race bike since. This morning I started out calmly, working to regain the feeling with the bike and the track and then in the afternoon I improved and am really happy. I want to thank the Puccetti team because it's always a pleasure to work with them. I love this team and without them, I wouldn't have gone back out on track."
