Odendaal torna a ruggire e vince Gara 1 a Most! Prima positiva top ten per Sebestyen

L'Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team esulta in Repubblica Ceca. La squadra Campione del Mondo in carica ha conquistato oggi la vittoria in Gara 1 a #Most grazie a #stevenodendaal, tornato al successo dopo la splendida tripletta di inizio stagione. Giornata molto proficua anche per #petersebestyen, capace di conquistare per la prima volta la top ten. 

Il day 2 di #Most è iniziato con la Superpole, che come la successiva Gara 1 si è svolta in condizioni di asciutto. Odendaal ha spremuto al massimo la sua Yamaha YZF-R6 numero 4, ottenendo la settima casella sullo schieramento. Progressivo miglioramento anche per Sebestyen, proprietario della 15° posizione con il migliore dei nove tempi fatti segnare nell'arco della sessione. 
Alle 15.15 è arrivato il momento di Gara 1. Steven ha sfoderato un'altra delle sue ottime partenze, recuperando subito due posizioni e mettendosi alla caccia della vetta. Quest'ultima è stata preda del pilota sudafricano allo scoccare del quarto passaggio, per poi non cambiare più proprietario. Steven infatti ha guidato la corsa sino al giro numero 13, durante il quale è stata esposta la bandiera in seguito alle conseguenze della caduta di Alcoba. Grazie a questo successo Odendaal recupera terreno in classifica generale, dove occupa la seconda piazza a -32 punti dalla vetta. 
Meno brillante la partenza di Peter, anch'egli però molto bravo a scalare immediatamente la classifica, occupando dopo pochi giri la 13° piazza. Nei giri successivi il pilota ungherese ha mantenuto un ottimo ritmo, che gli ha permesso di guadagnare ulteriori posizioni, sino alla 10° finale, davanti a diversi piloti con maggiore esperienza. 
Domani l'Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team tornerà in pista per il Warm Up (9.25) e Gara 2 (ore 12.30). Quest'ultima sarà visibile in diretta su Sky Sport Action, canale 204 di Sky.

Steven Odendaal: "Sono davvero contento per questa vittoria, anche perché arriva dopo alcuni episodi sfortunati. Ovviamente avrei preferito vincere sotto la bandiera a scacchi, ma sono sicuro che su finale mi sarei comunque difeso bene. Nonostante questo successo voglio continuare a non pensare al campionato, cercando di conquistare il maggior numero di punti possibile. Domani dovrò cercare di fare un'altra buona partenza, per poi cercare di replicare quanto fatto oggi". 
Peter Sebestyen: "Questa mattina abbiamo fatto un passo avanti in termini di assetto, ma avendo poco tempo a disposizione il mio risultato in qualifica non è stato ottimale. In gara ero molto forte in alcuni punti, mentre in altri ero davvero in sofferenza, quindi non è stato facile. Penso che possiamo fare un altro importante miglioramento, ma per il momento sono soddisfatto di aver ridotto il distacco dalla vetta. Sono contento anche per Steven, che ha fatto una grande gara e conquistato una meritata vittoria".
Fabio Evangelista: "Steven ha fatto una gara incredibile, e penso che anche senza bandiera rossa avrebbe raccolto un ottimo risultato: abbiamo avuto forse un pizzico di fortuna, ma l'essere stato in testa per tutta la gara testimonia il suo potenziale. Peter sta crescendo ed oggi ha ottenuto un'ottima decima posizione, che penso possa essere un importante trampolino di lancio, oltre che un piazzamento utile in termini di classifica riservata ai team". 

The Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team rejoices in the #czechrepublic. The reigning World Champion team took victory in Race 1 at #Most today thanks to #stevenodendaal, who returned to success after a splendid three-peat at the start of the season. Very profitable day also for #petersebestyen, able to conquer for the first time the top ten. 

Day 2 of #Most began with the Superpole, which like the subsequent Race 1 took place in dry conditions. Odendaal squeezed the maximum out of his number 4 Yamaha YZF-R6 to take seventh on the grid. Sebestyen also improved progressively, taking 15th position with the best of nine times set during the session. 
At 15.15 it was time for Race 1. Steven made another great start, immediately recovering two positions and chasing the top spot. The lead was taken by the South African rider on lap 4, and then he never changed hands again. Steven led the race until lap number 13, when the flag was shown due to the consequences of Alcoba's crash. Thanks to this success Odendaal recovers ground in the general standings, where he occupies second place at -32 points from the top. 
Peter's start was less brilliant, but he too was able to climb the classification immediately, occupying 13th place after a few laps. In the following laps the Hungarian rider kept a good pace, which allowed him to gain further positions, up to the 10th final place, ahead of several riders with more experience. 
Tomorrow the Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team will be back on track for Warm Up (9.25) and Race 2 (12.30). The race will be visible (for Italy) live on Sky Sport Action, channel 204 of Sky.

Steven Odendaal: "I'm really happy with this victory, also because it comes after some unfortunate episodes. Obviously I would have preferred to win under the chequered flag, but I'm sure I would have defended myself well in the final. Despite this success I want to continue not thinking about the championship, trying to get as many points as possible. Tomorrow I will have to try to get another good start and then try to repeat what I did today". 
Peter Sebestyen: "This morning we took a step forward in terms of set up, but as I didn't have much time my qualifying result wasn't optimal. In the race I was very strong in some places, while in others I was really suffering, so it was not easy. I think we can make another important improvement, but for the moment I am satisfied to have reduced the gap to the top. I'm also happy for Steven, who did a great race and took a well-deserved win". 
Fabio Evangelista: "Steven did an incredible race, and I think that even without the red flag he would have achieved a great result: we may have had a bit of luck, but being in the lead for the whole race shows his potential. Peter is growing and today he got a very good tenth position, which I think can be an important stepping stone, as well as a useful placement in terms of the team standings".
