Si è disputata domenica all’Autodromo Internacional do Algarve di Portimao in Portogallo, la quarta gara del Campionato Mondiale Junior FIM CEV Repsol #moto3, al quale il #tmracingfactoryteammoto3 partecipa con i tre piloti Nicola Carraro, Raffaele Fusco e David Salvador.

Nelle qualifiche disputate ieri David Salvador aveva ottenuto la decima posizione con il tempo di 1’49”115, seguito da vicino da #raffaelefusco che ha fermato i cronometri sul tempo di 1’49”199 ed ha concluso tredicesimo. #nicolacarraro, che non aveva mai corso sulla pista portoghese, non ha trovato il giusto feeling con la sua #moto ed ha concluso in  trentunesima posizione con il tempo di 1’50”222.

In seguito a questi risultati Salvador è partito dalla quarta fila, Fusco dalla quinta e Carraro dall’undicesima, nella gara che si è disputata sulla distanza di dieci giri.

Salvador è partito bene, ma nonostante il suo grande impegno non ha trovato il ritmo necessario per restare con il gruppo dei piloti più veloci e di conseguenza ha terminato in decima posizione, raccogliendo dei punti importanti per la classifica del campionato, che lo vede ora al quarto posto con 52 punti.

Raffaele Fusco è stato autore di una gara convincente. E’ partito molto bene ed è stato nelle prime posizioni sino a quando non ha dovuto scontare un long lap, a causa di una penalità che gli era stata inflitta dalla Direzione Gara nel corso delle FP2. Rientrato in gara nelle ultime posizioni, il giovane pilota italiano è riuscito a rimontare sino al sedicesimo posto finale, ad una sola posizione dalla point zone.

Scattato dall’undicesima fila della griglia, anche Carraro è stato autore di una buona rimonta per poi tagliare il traguardo ventitreesimo.

Il prossimo appuntamento con il Campionato Mondiale Junior FIM CEV Repsol #moto3 è fissato per il weekend del 24 e 25 luglio al Motorland Aragon in Spagna.

Raffaele Fusco: “Sono soddisfatto della mia gara. Sono partito bene e sono rimasto nel gruppo dei primi sino a quando non ho dovuto scontare il long lap che mi era stato inflitto nelle prove. Sono stato costantemente veloce ed ho fatto segnare degli ottimi tempi sul giro. Sono contento perché assieme alla squadra abbiamo fatto un grande lavoro e sono certo che ne raccoglieremo i risultati nelle prossime gare. Senza il long lap sono certo che mi sarei potuto giocare un posto sul podio”.

Nicola Carraro: “La mia gara è stata certamente condizionata dalla mia posizione di partenza. Non avevo mai corso qui a #portimao. La pista è molto bella ma non si adatta al mio stile di guida e per questo nella qualifiche non sono riuscito ad andare oltre il trentunesimo posto. Sono scattato abbastanza bene dall’undicesima fila ed ho recuperato molte posizioni sino a concludere ventitreesimo.  Non è certo il risultato che mi aspettavo e che compete a me ed alla mia squadra, ma sono sicuro che faremo certamente meglio nel prossimo appuntamento di fine luglio al Motorland Aragon”.

David Salvador: “È stato un weekend complicato, su di una pista dove non avevamo molti riferimenti. Nelle qualifiche ho ottenuto solo il decimo tempo, soprattutto perché non riuscivamo ad essere competitivi in un settore del tracciato. Sono partito in gara sapendo di non avere il miglior ritmo, ma pensando di poter stare col gruppo dei primi. Ho dato il massimo per non perdere il contatto con i primi ma anche in gara non ho mai trovato un buon feeling con la mia #moto su questa pista e quindi ci dobbiamo accontentare della decima posizione.  Sia io che la squadra abbiamo dato il massimo e quindi sono certo faremo meglio nelle prossime gare. Ora abbiamo tre settimane per preparare il round di Aragon, una pista dove mi trovo a mio agio e dove punterò deciso al podio”.

The Autodromo Internacional do Algarve in #portimao, Portugal hosted on Sunday the fourth Junior FIM CEV Repsol #moto3 world championship race, in which the #tmracingfactoryteammoto3 participated with its three riders #nicolacarraro, #raffaelefusco and David Salvador. 

In yesterday’s qualifying, David Salvador scored tenth position with a time of 1’49”115, closely followed by #raffaelefusco who stopped the clocks on 1’49”199 to finish thirteenth. #nicolacarraro, having never raced at the Portuguese track before, struggled to find the right feeling with his bike and finished thirty-first with a time of 1’50”222. 

These results meant that Salvador started from the fourth row, Fusco from the fifth and Carraro from the eleventh for the ten-lap race.

Salvador made a good start but, despite his best efforts, he was unable to find the necessary rhythm to stick with the fastest riders and finished tenth, scoring important points for the championship, in which he now places fourth with 52 points.

Raffaele Fusco also completed a solid race. He started well and was running close to the front until he was forced to complete a long lap, the result of a penalty Race Direction had inflicted during FP2. Re-joining the race at the back of the field, the young Italian was able to climb back up to sixteenth place, just one away from the points zone. 

From the eleventh row of the grid, Carraro also did well to make up a number of positions and cross the line in twenty-third place.

The next round of the Junior FIM CEV Repsol #moto3 World Championship will take place over the weekend of 24-25 July at the Motorland Aragon circuit in Spain.

Raffaele Fusco: “I’m pleased with my race. I started well and stuck with the leaders until I had to complete the long lap that I’d been given in practice. I was consistently fast and set some excellent lap times. I’m pleased because, together with the team, we did a great job and I’m sure we’ll score some strong results in the next races. Without the long lap, I’m sure I could have fought for a podium today”.

Nicola Carraro: “My race was definitely conditioned by my starting position. I’d never raced here at #portimao before. The track is beautiful, but it doesn’t suit my riding style and so in qualifying I couldn’t do more than thirty-first. I got away quite well from the eleventh row and made up many positions, before closing twenty-third. It’s not the result I was hoping for, or what the team and me deserve, but I’m sure we’ll do better at the next Motorland Aragon round”.

David Salvador: “It was a complicated weekend, at a track where we had few references. I only qualified tenth, mainly because there was one sector of the track where we struggled to be competitive. I started the race knowing I didn’t have the best pace but thinking I could stick with the frontrunners. I gave it my all, to not lost contact with the leaders, but I never found good feeling with my bike and so we had to settle for tenth place. Both me and the team did our best and so I’m sure we’ll do better in the next races. We now have three weeks to prepare for the Aragon round, a track where I feel comfortable and where I’ll be aiming for the podium”.
