Si parte! L'Evan Bros.

215 giorni dopo l'ultima volta, l'Evan Bros.

It's on! Evan Bros. #worldssp Yamaha Team and #stevenodendaal at Aragon for the first round of the 2021 season

215 days after the last time, the Evan Bros. #worldssp Yamaha Team is ready to get back on track for the first round of the 12-round 2021 World Supersport Championship season. After a successful two-year period, with the team winning the world title in both 2019 and 2020, the team from Ravenna can only look with confidence to the upcoming season, which he will face together with the talented and experienced South African rider #stevenodendaal

During the seven-month break, the team and rider got to know each other and work together, taking to the track for the first time at Misano in March, with good results. Less fortunate were the official tests in Barcelona, which ended prematurely due to Odendaal's dislocated right shoulder, forcing the pair to redesign their pre-season.

The pre-season started again at #motorlandaragon, where Steven received encouraging feedback from both his injured shoulder and his Yamaha YZF-R6. Equally encouraging feedback emerged last weekend when the Evan Bros. #worldssp Yamaha Team took to the track at Navarra, one of the new additions to the 2021 calendar, to take a victory in the second round of the ESBK season.

Despite a difficult winter, the reigning World Champion team arrived at Aragon ready to play a leading role once again and ready to put Odendaal, who can boast a sixth place finish at Motorland last year in his debut season in the category, in the best possible condition.
As from the second round of last season, the Evan Bros. #worldssp Yamaha Team will have in 2021 two races each weekend, one on Saturday and one on Sunday, in a new format that is very much appreciated by both insiders and fans. Fans who unfortunately will not be able to attend the Spanish round from the stands, due to the continuing restrictions related to the coronavirus.  WEEKEND TIMETABLE - SUPERSPORT

Friday 11.25 - 12.10 FP1 16.00 - 16.45 FP2
Saturday 10.25 - 10.45 Superpole 15.15 - Race 1 (15 laps)
Sunday 09.25 - 09.40 Warm up 12.30 - Race 2 (15 laps)

Steven Odendaal: "I'm very confident ahead of the first race of the season. We had a difficult winter, because of the injury in Barcelona, but we did our best to be ready for the start of this 2021. I think my body is at 90% condition, but during the weekend I don't want to think about my shoulder: I just want to think about giving everything on the track. I'm looking forward to my first race weekend with the Evan Bros. #worldssp Yamaha Team, who have already shown me how professional they are. Now all we have to do is get out on track, with the aim of bringing home some champagne right away".

Fabio Evangelista (Team Principal):
"It has been a long winter, so we are looking forward to the start of the season. We haven't had an idyllic pre-season, but together with Steven we have been working really hard, so I am very confident ahead of the Aragon round. The first few races might be a bit tricky for us because Steven's physical condition is not yet optimal, but we are aware of both his and our value, and we want to defend at all costs the title of reigning World Champion team that we hold with great pride".
