Citroën in Hungary launches world champion crew in National Rally Championship

Citroën Rally Team Hungary has signed for its third season in the Hungarian Rally Championship, a world champion driver and co-driver. Last year’s WRC2 champion Mads Ostberg and co-driver Torstein Eriksen will make their 2021 debut with the latest developments of the Citroën C3 Rally 2 provided by Tagai Racing Technology (TRT) in the Hungarian Open Rally Championship.

  • The Citroën brand is proud of the success, performance and reliability that Citroën Racing has demonstrated throughout its rally career The Hungarian Citroën headquarters, as well as Tagai Racing Technology and PIRELLI, have worked hard to be able to show the local audience what Citroën is capable of throughout the 2021 season. 
  • Team principal, György Balkányi, proudly stated, “ I am very pleased to be able to establish a collaboration between TRT and Mads  Østberg, who will represent the Citroën  brand in the Hungarian Rally Championship, as well as the reputation of our country and Hungarian rally in the world.” 
  • The four-time Norwegian champion has been competing with Citroën since 2014 and was at the wheel of the C3 R5 in 2020 when he was titled WRC2 World Championship with his co-driver, also Norwegian Torstein Eriksen. 
  • At a test session organized last year, Mads was able to find his bearings within the team. He said, “I am happy to have been able to come to this agreement with Citroën in Hungary and TRT, I am very confident in their work and am excited to take on the challenge of the Hungarian roads.”
