A Jerez prima giornata di test positiva per Mahias ed il Kawasaki Puccetti Racing
Lucas Mahias ha iniziato oggi all'autodromo di #jerezdelafrontera in #spagna la sua preparazione alla stagione 2021 che lo vedrà impegnato nel Campionato Mondiale Superbike, con la Ninja del #kawasakipuccettiracing.
Il debutto del pilota francese sulla ZX-10RR è avvenuto questa mattina, quando Mahias è entrato in pista ed ha iniziato a prendere confidenza con la sua nuova #moto. In pochi giri Lucas ha trovato un buon feeling ed ha iniziato a lavorare con il suo staff tecnico per adattare la #moto al suo stile di guida. Oggi il cronometro non era importante, ma il suo miglior crono tempo di 1'40"852, ottenuto con gomme da gara, a circa un secondo dalle prime posizioni, è stato certamente indicativo dell'ottimo lavoro svolto da team e pilota, che ha percorso un totale di 66 giri.
Domani Mahias tornerà sulla pista andalusa per il secondo ed ultimo giorno di prove.

Manuel Puccetti – Team Principal: "Un buon debutto per Lucas. Pur essendo al suo primo giorno con la nostra Ninja e pur avendo sempre utilizzato gomme da gara, ha concluso a poco più di un secondo da Rea che è il riferimento per chi corre con la Kawasaki. Un ottimo risultato. Il lavoro da fare è ancora molto, soprattutto per quanto riguarda la parte elettronica che per lui è completamente nuova, ma siamo certamente partiti con il piede giusto".
"La mia prima giornata con la Kawasaki Superbike è andata molto bene ne sono contento di quanto abbiamo fatto. Era dal 2016 che non salivo su una ZX-10RR e non mi ricordavo niente. Ho iniziato con cautela per incominciare a capire la mia #moto, e negli ultimi giri ho trovato un buon feeling con l'anteriore e questo mi rende felice. Ovviamente abbiamo ancora molto lavoro da fare e ci sono tante cose che ancora non riesco a fare come vorrei, ma siamo solo all'inizio. Mi sono trovato molto bene anche con la mia squadra, che ringrazio per l'aiuto che mi ha dato oggi. Domani voglio proseguire sulla strada intrapresa oggi. Non voglio cambiare molto sulla #moto perché devo prima lavorare su me stesso. La #moto è veloce e potente, sono io che devo imparare a sfruttarne tutte le grandi potenzialità".
A positive first day of testing for Mahias and #kawasakipuccettiracing at Jerez
Out at the #jerezdelafrontera circuit in Spain today, #lucasmahias has begun his preparation for the 2021 season, which will see him compete in the Superbike World Championship aboard Kawasaki Puccetti Racing's Ninja.
The French rider's initiation with the ZX-10RR began this morning, as he took to the track to start building confidence with his new bike. In just a few laps, Lucas found good feeling and began to work with his technical staff to adapt the bike to his riding style. The stopwatch wasn't important today, but his best lap time was a 1'40"852, recorded with a race tyre, which put him roughly a second from the frontrunners, a sign of the excellent work carried out by both team and rider, who covered a total of 66 laps. Tomorrow will see Mahias return to the Andalusian track for the second and final day of testing.

Despite it being his first day with our Ninja, and despite using race tyres, he closed a little over a second from Rea, the reference for Kawasaki riders. An excellent result. We still have our work cut out, especially in terms of the electronics, which are all new for him, but we've definitely started out on the right foot."
"My first day with the Kawasaki Superbike has gone very well and I'm pleased with what we've done. I hadn't ridden an ZX-10RR since 2016 and I couldn't remember anything. I made a cautious start, starting to understand the bike but by the final laps I'd found good feeling with the front and I'm pleased about that. We still have a lot to do of course, and there's a lot I can't do as I'd like, but we're still at the start. I'm getting on very well with the team and I thank them for all their help today. Tomorrow I want to continue on a similar path. I don't want to change a lot on the bike, because I first need to work on myself. The bike is fast and powerful, it's me who needs to learn to exploit its great potential."
