2020 FIA Junior WRC Championship finale heads to Monza

The fourth and final round of the #2020fiajuniorwrcchampionship will take place during ACI #rally #Monza on December 4-6, which is also the scheduled finale for the 2020 FIA World #rally Championship.

The traditional end-of-season celebration #Event is a renowned spectacle with 2020 offering a unique opportunity for the historic #Event to be part of the FIA World #rally Championship in an upgraded version. ACI #rally #Monza will be an all asphalt affair adopting the FIA's short-format #Event format featuring close to 240 kilometres of competitive stages.

Previous stars of FIA Junior WRC have enjoyed success at the star-studded #Event with Dani Sordo (2005 FIA Junior WRC Champion) winning in 2010 and 2013, and Sébastien Loeb (2001 FIA Junior WRC Champion) reaching the top spot in 2011.

One and a half times points will be on offer to all FIA Junior WRC drivers who have competed on at least two rounds of the championship this year, which leaves the title-race wide open. The championship fight could be even closer when taking into account that drivers who have visited every round of the 2020 championship get to drop their worst classification score of the season.

Maciej Woda, FIA Junior WRC Team Director, said: "We are doing everything we can to ensure the #2020fiajuniorwrcchampionship will compete on four rounds this season. I need to thank everybody at ACI, FIA and WRC Promoter for working very hard and quickly to allow us to continue the championship, especially while we have a very exciting fight between our top-three competitors. ACI #rally #Monza promises to be a very special #Event that I think will go down in history, it will be an #Event, I believe, the championship will look back on with very fond memories as it really is the opportunity of a lifetime for everybody involved. Despite the #Event being just over a month away, we are all working hard to be ready for the ultimate battle. Finally, I just want to add I am very sorry about the cancellation of #rally Ypres Belgium. It is not what anybody wanted to happen but given the circumstances, the organisers made a very difficult but correct decision. We need to remember that people's health and safety is the top priority wherever we go."
