Facts & figures from the Nürburgring: Formula One #racing returned to the Nürburgring last weekend after a seven-year absence. The occasion of the 41st Grands Prix at the Nürburgring brought a very special success for #lewishamilton: the six-time world champion chalked up his 91st Grand Prix victory on Sunday, equalling the previous tally of record championship winner Michael Schumacher. In recognition of this achievement, Mick Schumacher presented Hamilton with one of his father's helmets immediately after the race. For Lewis, it was his second victory on the Eifel circuit - his first having come in 2011 - and his seventh win of the current season. This result was also the 288th points-scoring finish for a Mercedes-Benz-powered car in Formula One. Valtteri Bottas set the fastest qualifying time on Saturday to book his 14th pole position in the premier class of motorsport. Lewis made it a front row lockout for the team, the 72nd in the history of the team.

Virtual season opener: As the Formula One drivers look ahead to the final third of the campaign, the #f1esportsproseries drivers are only just beginning their new season today (Wednesday). The first #event on the calendar will feature virtual races in Bahrain, Vietnam and China. Lining up for the Mercedes-AMG Petronas #esports team in the new season are #brendonleigh, champion in 2017 and 2018, and newcomer #bonohuis. The #esports team will be advised by Mercedes-AMG Petronas #f1 Team Simulator & Development Driver Esteban Gutierrez. The outfit has significantly upgraded its #esports Training Centre at Brackley and has signed partnerships with leading brands to create a bespoke environment for virtual #racing.

Race victory brings leadership in the driver standings of the GT World Challenge Europe: After three exciting sprint races of the GT World Challenge Europe on the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, there are now realistic prospects of Mercedes-AMG Motorsport securing the prestigious driver's title in the highly competitive GT3 series. #timurboguslavskiy (RUS) partnered by #raffaelemarciello (ITA) in the number 88 Mercedes-AMG GT3 of AKKA ASP followed up two third places in the first two races of the weekend with a victory in Race 3, a run of results that has taken him to the top of the overall GT World Challenge Europe standings with a ten-point lead over team-mate Marciello. The ultimate destination of the title will be decided after two more endurance races - the Total 24 Hours of Spa and the 1,000-kilometre race at Circuit Paul Ricard. The 2020 Sprint Cup came to an end at Barcelona, with Boguslavskiy taking the runner-up spot and being joined on the championship podium by #raffaelemarciello in third place.

In the Silver Cup, the Madpanda Motorsport duo of Ezequiel Perez Companc (ARG) and Axcil Jefferies (ZIM) also ended the sprint season as runners-up. In this particular class, the Mercedes-AMG Customer #racing teams celebrated a one-two win in the second race of the weekend. Benjamin Hites (CHI) and Jim Pla (FRA) in the number 89 Mercedes-AMG GT3 of AKKA ASP finished fourth in the general classification in the first race of the weekend. Sixth place overall in Race 2 was enough for a class victory in the Silver Cup, just ahead of Toksport WRT duo Juuso Puhakka (FIN) and Oscar Tunjo (COL).

In the Pro-Am class, Dominik Baumann (AUT) and Valentin Pierburg (GER) driving the number 20 Mercedes-AMG GT3 of SPS #automotive performance made it onto the podium in all three races with a P3, a P2 and another P3 - a set of results that were enough for Pierburg to finished third in the Sprint Championship. ERC Sport contributed further class podiums with Phil Keen and Lee Mowle (both GBR) in the number 18 Mercedes-AMG GT3 taking a second and a third place.

Podiums and class victory in the #24hseriesThe long journey to Sicily for the #24hseries race at the Autodromo di #pergusa was well worthwhile for the Mercedes-AMG Customer #racing teams, as it produced one class victory and a total of four podiums. After starting from seventh on the grid, CP #racing steadily worked their way up to second place overall over the twelve hours of #racing. The quartet of Charles Espenlaub, Joe Foster, Shane Lewis and Charles Putman (all USA) in the Mercedes-AMG GT3 #85 won the GT3-AM class. The crew of the number 19 Mercedes-AMG GT3 fielded by MP Motorsport finished fifth overall and third in the GT3-PRO class, as did the Mercedes-AMG GT3 #58 of MP #racing. CP #racing now have excellent prospects of winning the class championship. The team goes into the grand finale (13th - 14th November) as leader in the #24hseries Continents and second placed in the #24hseries Europe. The season concludes with a twelve-hour race at Zandvoort in the Netherlands.

Podiums in the Super Taikyu Series: Mercedes-AMG Customer #racing teams celebrated two podium finishes in the Japanese Super Taikyu at Sportsland SUGO. Shinichi Takagi, Daisuke Yamawaki (both JPN) and Shaun Thong (HKG) in the number 888 Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Hirix #racing crossed the finish line in second place. Tsubasa Takahashi, Yudai Uchida and Hideki Yamauchi (all JPN) in the number 3 Mercedes-AMG GT4 of Endless Sports were fifth overall and took the victory in their class.

Class wins for the Mercedes-AMG GT4: Atila Abreu and Leo Sanches (both BRA) of Scuderia 111 led a one-two victory in the GT4 class of the Endurance Brasil race at the Velopark circuit. Joining them on the podium were runners-up Alexandre Auler and Guilherme Salas (both BRA) of #racing M3. Second place in the GT3 class went to the Mattheis Motorsport driver pairing of Ricardo Baptista and Xandinho Negrão (both BRA).

A Mercedes-AMG GT4 also finished top of its class in the British GT Cup Championship. In the second of four races at Brands Hatch, Marcus Clutton and Morgan Tillbrook (both GBR) of Enduro Motorsport finished seventh overall and first in their classification.
