L’asfalto bagnato tradisce Andrea Locatelli in Gara 2 a Magny – Cours
Domenica negativa per il BARDAHL Evan Bros. WorldSSP Team ed #andrealocatelli, costretti a chiudere il weekend di Magny – Cours con una caduta durante il giro di ricognizione di Gara 2, svolta su pista bagnata. Un esito di giornata beffardo per il duo Campione del Mondo, alle prese con il primo stop in questo campionato 2020.
Locatelli ha inaugurato la domenica francese scendendo in pista per il warm up, risultando ancora una volta molto veloce sul bagnato, riuscendo a chiudere la sessione in prima posizione grazie al crono di 1'51"919. Alle 12.30 è giunto il momento di Gara 2, caratterizzata (come il resto del weekend) dalla pioggia e dal conseguente asfalto bagnato.
Andrea è partito dalla quarta casella per il giro di ricognizione, ma alla curva 12 ha perso il controllo della propria Yamaha YZF-R6, finendo a terra. Locatelli è di conseguenza rientrato al box, per cercare di riparare la propria #moto e ripartire, ma i danni riportati hanno portato il team a desistere.
La caduta odierna ovviamente non influisce sulla classifica di campionato, che ha già incoronato #andrealocatelli ed il BARDAHL Evan Bros. WorldSSP Team Campioni del Mondo. Team e pilota sono ora già proiettati verso il prossimo ed ultimo round della stagione, in programma nel weekend del 18 ottobre sul tracciato di Estoril.

Andrea Locatelli: "Sono molto dispiaciuto per l'esito della gara, purtroppo un piccolo errore ci ha privato della possibilità di essere nuovamente protagonisti. Ringrazio la squadra per il grande lavoro svolto durante l'intero fine settimana. Ora la cosa migliore è dimenticare quanto accaduto oggi, per arrivare pronti all'ultimo round e chiudere in bellezza la stagione".
The wet asphalt betrays #andrealocatelli in Race 2 in Magny - Cours
Negative Sunday for the BARDAHL Evan Bros. WorldSSP Team and #andrealocatelli, forced to close the weekend of Magny - Cours with a crash during the warm up lap of Race 2, held on a wet track. A mocking outcome of the day for the World Champion duo, struggling with the first stop in this 2020 championship.
Locatelli inaugurated the French Sunday by getting on track for the warm up, being once again very fast in the wet, managing to close the session in first position thanks to the time of 1'51"919. At 12.30 it was time for Race 2, characterized (like the rest of the weekend) by rain and the consequent wet asphalt.
Andrea started from the fourth place of the grid for the warm up lap, but at turn 12 he lost control of his Yamaha YZF-R6 and ended up on the ground. Locatelli consequently returned to the pit to try to repair his bike and restart, but the damage caused the team to desist.
Today's crash obviously does not affect the championship standings, which has already crowned #andrealocatelli and the BARDAHL Evan Bros. WorldSSP Team World Champions. Team and rider are now already projected towards the next and final round of the season, scheduled for the weekend of 18 October on the Estoril circuit.

Andrea Locatelli: "I am very sorry for the outcome of the race, unfortunately a small mistake has deprived us of the chance to be protagonists again. I thank the team for the great work done during the whole weekend. Now the best thing is to forget what happened today, to get ready for the last round and close the season in style".
