Kawasaki Puccetti #racing#worldsbk and SS rounds 4 and 5 at Motorland Aragon

It's been three weeks since the third round at Portimao in Portugal and now it's time for #kawasakipuccettiracing to return to Spain and the #motorlandaragon facility near Alcaniz, where rounds 4 and 5 of the Superbike and Supersport world championships are set to take place. The 2020 calendar foresees a double-header at the Aragon track over the weekends of 29-30 August and 5-6 September. The events will once again take place behind closed doors and in strict accordance with Covid-19 protocol.
Last week Dorna announced that they have included an eighth and final round on the calendar, which will take place from 16 to 18 October at the Estoril racetrack in Portugal. The SBK World Championship has already raced on the Portuguese track, located about 30 km from the capital Lisbon, in 1988 and 1993.
In the Supersport category, the Portimao #event saw #lucasmahias score his best result of the season so far when he crossed the line second in race 1. The Frenchman unfortunately crashed out of race 2, but he remains one of the championship's frontrunners and currently lies third in the standings with 62 points. After taking a little time to adapt to what is a new category for him, Phillip Oettl is now a regular in the top five, both in the races and the championship, in which he currently places fifth with 49 points.
In Superbike, Xavier Fores is working hard with his team to adapt his riding style to the Ninja ZX-10R with clear progress being made in every race, both in terms of the bike set-up and the Spaniard's handling of the machine. Over this double-header, the aim is to continue to improve and place in the top eight in the races.
Motorland Aragon, also known as "La Ciudad del Motor", is located close to Alcaniz, in the Aragon region of Spain. The track offers various configurations, the production-derived bikes using that which measures 5077 metres. It features 17 turns, seven of which are right-handers and ten left. Designed by Hermann Tilke, it is part of a very large complex that is divided into three areas, with the technological park, the sports area (which includes a karting track and some off-road tracks in addition to the racetrack), and the cultural area. It has hosted the Superbike world championship each year since 2011.

Forès

"The #motorlandaragon track is one of my favourites. I've always scored great results here, my best being a third-place finish in the 2018 Superbike championship. These two rounds come at the right time, because it will be easier for me to improve at a track I know so well, so I hope to start to see the fruit of our labours. The only problem might have to do with the weather, but after the Jerez and Portimao rounds we can say that we're used to #racing in the extreme heat."

Mahias

"I really want to make up for my recent crash at Portimao and so I can't wait to get back on track. I like the Aragon circuit and won the Supersport race here in 2017. It will be the second time I'm competing with the Kawasaki ZX-6R at this track. Last year, it was still early days and I wasn't yet fully confident with my bike. This year will be different, starting with the weather of course, which is bound to be hot. I hope to quickly identify a good setting so I can give it my all in the race."

Oettl:

"Motorland Aragon is not one of my favourites, but I like it well enough and as I've already raced here in the past, I can say I know it quite well. I've never raced a Supersport here though and so it'll be different this time. The important thing will be to quickly find the right feeling with my bike at this track. We're in a hot part of the world and so we'll be dealing once again with high temperatures. It won't be easy but with the help of my team, I'm sure I can score some good results."
