Kawasaki Puccetti Racing – Prove libere WSS a Portimao in Portogallo
E' iniziato oggi all'Autodromo Internacional do Algarve a Portiamo in Portogallo il terzo round del Campionato Mondiale Supersport. Il #kawasakipuccettiracing è reduce dalle due gare di Jerez (il nuovo calendario 2020 del mondiale Supersport prevede due gare per ogni round) nelle quali ha ottenuto altrettanti podi, il sabato con #philippoettl e la domenica con #lucasmahias.
Questa mattina, in una giornata calda e sotto un cielo inizialmente nuvoloso, sono scesi entrambi in pista per disputare la prima sessione di prove libere. Mahias (1'46"346) ha chiuso in quarta posizione mentre Oettl (1'46"891) in ottava.
Nella sessione del pomeriggio il pilota francese si è migliorato ed ha ha ottenuto il quarto posto grazie ad un giro in 1'46"062. Sfortunato Oettl (1'46"522) che si è dovuto fermare a circa 15 minuti dalla fine del turno per un problema tecnico. Con il tempo di 1'46"522 il pilota tedesco ha chiuso in decima posizione.
Domani mattina i due alfieri del #kawasakipuccettiracing disputeranno il terzo ed ultimo turno di prove libere, e a seguire in tarda mattinata la Superpole. Nel pomeriggio prenderanno il via nella prima gara del weekend.

"Abbiamo lavorato bene, ripetendo lo stesso programma che avevamo a Jerez. Abbiamo sistemato l'assetto della mia #moto ed abbiamo anche effettuato un long run che ha evidenziato che abbiamo già un buon ritmo. Sono quarto nella classifica dei tempi, ma nel finale ho utilizzato gomme usurate e quindi sono soddisfatto del lavoro svolto. Siamo pronti per la Superpole, ma anche per la prima gara di domani. Un ringraziamento va al mio team che ha svolto un ottimo lavoro".
Oettl
"Oggi siamo stati un poco sfortunati in quanto nella seconda sessione mi sono dovuto fermare per un problema tecnico. Nulla di grave, però non ho potuto girare quanto avrei voluto. Stiamo lavorando nella direzione giusta, ed i primi non sono lontani. Siamo partiti utilizzando il set up che avevamo trovato nei test invernali e lo stiamo adattando alle diverse condizioni atmosferiche. Il decimo posto non è certo il risultato sperato, ma la Superpole e la gara si disputano domani e non oggi. Grazie alla mia squadra che sta come sempre lavorando molto per me".

The third round of the Supersport world championship is now underway at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve in Portiamo, Portugal. #kawasakipuccettiracing has just come from the two races at Jerez (the new Supersport world championship calendar features two races for each round) in which it scored as many podiums, one on Saturday with #philippoettl and another on Sunday with #lucasmahias.
This morning, in hot conditions but under what were initially cloudy skies, the pair headed out for the first free practice. Mahias (1'46"346) closed in fourth place, while Oettl (1'46"891) finished eighth.
During the afternoon's session, the Frenchman improved on his time to score fourth position with a best of 1'46"062. Unfortunately, Oettl (1'46"522) was forced to finish 15 minutes before the end of the session due to a technical problem. With a time of 1'46"522, the German closed in tenth place.
Tomorrow morning will see the two #kawasakipuccettiracing riders take part in the third and final practice followed by the Superpole, while the weekend's first race will run in the afternoon.

"We've worked well, sticking to the same schedule we had at Jerez. We've sorted the setup of my bike and have also completed a long-run which proves we have good pace. I'm fourth in the standings but in the final stages I was out on used tyres so I'm pleased with the work done. We're ready for Superpole, but also for tomorrow's first race. Thanks to my team for their great work today."
Oettl
"We were a little unlucky today as I had to stop due to a technical problem during the second session. Nothing serious, but I couldn't ride as I wanted. We're working in the right direction though, and the frontrunners aren't far off. We started out with the setting we found in winter testing and are adapting it to the different weather conditions. Tenth isn't where we want to be, but Superpole and the race are tomorrow, not today. I want to thank my guys as they're working really hard for me as always."
