Volvo XC40 gets Resale Value Award from Kelley Blue Book

ROCKLEIGH, NJ (January 22, 2020) -- The 2020 #volvo XC40 is predicted to hold its value better than most cars, according to experts at #kelleybluebook, a point financially-savvy new-car buyers are sure to take note of.
The XC40 won this year’s #kelleybluebook Resale Value Award in the Luxury Subcompact SUV category. It is the second #volvo this year that third-party experts predict will have a strong residual value. The #volvo V90 luxury wagon won an ALG Residual Value Award in November 2019.
Kelley Blue Book says many new-car buyers do not realize that depreciation often is the greatest expense incurred by drivers during the first five years of vehicle ownership.

The contemporary XC40 has a starting MSRP of $33,700 and includes a long list of standard safety, technology and comfort features. It was the first vehicle to be offered through Care by #volvo, which gives customers the option to subscribe to their cars instead of a traditional purchase or lease. Care by #volvo subscribers can order their cars online. A flat, monthly fee covers car payment, insurance coverage, scheduled maintenance and other protection packages for 24 months, with the ability to change cars after just 12.

Volvo XC40 - model year 2020The #volvo XC40 is Volvo’s new small premium SUV and the first ever #volvo model to win the prestigious European Car of the Year award. Together with the larger XC60 and XC90, it completes Volvo’s global line-up of premium SUVs. The XC40 is the first car based on the new Compact Modular Architecture (CMA).
Design-wise, the XC40 is more of a cousin than a sibling to the larger 90 and 60 Series cars, with its own personality, expression and character. The XC40 is defined by a strong graphical design, a real feeling of strength and quality and a more playful nature in terms of colors and materials.In the cabin, an innovative approach to all-round functionality provides drivers with plenty of storage space. The XC40 offers several large and smartly designed storage compartments in the doors, under the seats and in the trunk. Other highlights include a removable bin in the mid console, a small fold-away hook as part of the glove compartment and special slots for credit and service cards.Connectivity and infotainmentAll new #volvo cars are connected, thanks to the company’s Sensus connectivity and infotainment system. It delivers an intuitive touch screen interface that combines car functions, navigation, connected services and in-car entertainment applications such as Spotify, Pandora, Baidu and TuneIn. The portrait-oriented touch screen enables easy and fast access to a host of functions and features. Smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android #auto is also available.Powertrain technologyIn the U.S. the XC40 is powered by one of two efficient, two-liter turbocharged #volvo Drive-E powertrains: The T4, a 187 horsepower gasoline engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive; or the T5, a 248 horsepower gasoline engine with the same eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
Safety and driver assistanceThe XC40, named in 2019 a IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+, brings a new standard of safety to the small SUV premium segment, as the car takes on board the award-winning safety technologies known from Volvo’s 90 and 60 Series cars.Safety and driver assistance features offered on the XC40 include Volvo’s Pilot Assist system, the latest generation of City Safety, Run-off Road protection and mitigation, Cross Traffic alert with #auto brake and the 360° Camera that helps drivers maneuver their car into tight parking spaces. These and other technologies make the XC40 one of the best-equipped small premium SUVs.Volvo’s City Safety technology, standard on all #volvo models, combines automatic braking functionality and collision avoidance systems to cover a range of potential accident scenarios and help keep you safe. City Safety is the only system on the market that detects pedestrians, cyclists and large animals such as moose.
