Herndon, VA — Digital Trends, a leading consumer technology publisher, has named the #volkswagengolf the Best Hatchback in its Best Cars of 2019 roundup, praising its overall value and available technology throughout the Golf family lineup such as Adaptive Cruise Control and #volkswagen Digital Cockpit.

“The Golf is a tech-focused driver’s car that never fails to reward,” says Adam Kaslikowski, Cars Editor for Digital Trends.

“Over four decades the Golf family has proven its value while delivering driving satisfaction and high quality for its loyal owners,” said Scott Keogh, President and CEO, #volkswagen Group of America, Inc. “This award from Digital Trends highlights how far the car has come in its technology offerings.”

The 2019 Golf is available in two trims—S and SE—and pairs a 1.4-liter four-cylinder TSI engine making 147 hp with either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission for both trims.

The S trim adds standard driver-assistance features such as Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Monitoring (Front Assist), Blind Spot Monitor, and Rear Traffic Alert for model year 2019. SE models offer an available Driver Assistance package, which includes Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Keeping System, (Lane Assist), High Beam Control (Light Assist), auto-dimming rearview mirror, and 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels.

MSRP for the 2019 #volkswagengolf with a standard six-speed manual transmission starts at $21,845. The eight-speed automatic transmission starts at $22,945. The destination charge for all Golf models is an additional $895.

The Golf lineup also includes the GTI hot hatch, Golf R performance variant, all-electric e-Golf and two wagon variants—Golf SportWagen, and the off-road capable Golf Alltrack.
