  • Peter Hickman - “I have always run #Dunlop in road #racing. They make a big difference”
  • John McGuinness - “Getting 226 miles of #racing from the Dunlops is stunning”
  • Ian Hutchinson - “Dunlop has a real commitment to developing tyres for the TT”

Many top riders competing in the 2019 #isleofmantt have chosen to race on #Dunlop tyres.

The riders who have chosen #Dunlop include current and former champions who have contested the 37.73-mile (60.7 km) road course over the past two decades including every competing winner of the Senior TT from the last 15 years.

Dunlop has had huge success at the iconic #Event, winning 13 consecutive Senior TT races as well as currently holding 18 current single rider lap and race records. In the recent North West 200, #Dunlop tyres were used to win two major races at the Northern Irish road #racing festival.

John McGuinness

23-time #isleofmantt winner #johnmcguinness will continue to race on #Dunlop tyres for Norton in the Superbike and Superlight classes, bidding to regain his title on the world-famous road course.

McGuinness praises #Dunlop tyres performance and durability: “You could get four laps out of them, some riders get six laps, which is amazing. 226 miles (363 km) out of the tyres is stunning.”

Peter Hickman

The fastest man to ever lap the TT course, #peterhickman will race alongside McGuinness for Norton in the lightweight class.

However, in the Senior TT, he will again race for Smiths #racing BMW on #Dunlop tyres. Hickman describes the impact the tyres have made on the performance of the bike: “I have always run #Dunlop on the road. #Dunlop made a big difference for us, one of the reasons why the senior TT record was lifted.”

Hickman heads into the 2019 TT on the back of a North West 200 (NW200) victory, winning the Superstock Race.

Ian Hutchinson

16-time #isleofmantt winner, #ianhutchinson will race for Honda #racing and aims to challenge reigning Senior TT champion, #peterhickman.

Riding for Honda, Hutchinson wants to get back to winning ways. Although winning the famous race 16 times, his last #isleofmantt win was in 2017 in the Superstock class. He’s impressed on Dunlop’s focus on road #racing: “The great thing in working with #Dunlop is their commitment to the TT and designing tyres that suit the roads. #Dunlop put a lot of effort into this #Event and it is a real focus for them. We benefit from the testing all their riders do. When they test at Dunlop’s Mireval track they can come away from that and develop new compounds and constructions for us to try at the next test. It’s really impressive to see the new tyres #Dunlop bring to the Isle of Man each year”

David Johnson

Born in Adelaide, Australia, #davidjohnson will pursue victory of the #isleofmantt with the ‘factory’ Honda #racing Team alongside #ianhutchinson.

With the best finish of 4th place, #davidjohnson believes Dunlop’s wealth of experience can give him the tools to secure that elusive first podium. Team Manager Jonny Twelvetrees explains the importance of the Honda and #Dunlop partnership: “Dunlop has been Honda’s partner for road #racing for many years. It’s a great, strong relationship and the two companies work well together. The build-up to this year’s TT has been really good. #Dunlop has new product this year and the first feedback from the riders has been positive and we’ve been able to adapt the Honda to the new tyres and we are going faster as a result.”

Lee Johnston

After an NW200 Supersport race win, #leejohnston goes into the #isleofmantt aiming to secure his first TT victory.

Combining the power of the Ashcourt #racing BMW and the performance of the #Dunlop tyres, #leejohnston will want to improve on his best TT finish of third place.

Michael Dunlop

Michael #Dunlop aims to add to his already impressive tally of 18 #isleofmantt victories in 2019, riding his Tyco BMW

The Northern Irish born rider first contested the #isleofmantt in 2007 and continues to challenge for victories every year.

Utilising the experience and technological advancements that #Dunlop Tyres bring to the #isleofmantt, #michaelDunlop and the Tyco BMW #racing team have chosen #Dunlop as the perfect tyre to race on.

Dunlop also has a strong representation in other classes with the Milenco by Padgetts Motorcycles team expanding their line-up in the Supersport category with Davey Todd lining up on a Honda CBR600RR alongside regular team member Conor Cummins. in the all-electric TT Zero, #Dunlop will support Mugen once again - aiming for their 6th successive win.

Isle of Man TT

The TT has qualifying each evening until May 31 (except Sunday, May 26). The first race begins on June 1, with the Superbike TT Race and ends on June 7, with the Senior TT Race.
