Munich. The British Superbike Championship (BSB) stopped off at Brands Hatch (GBR) at the weekend, where #keithfarmer (GBR) and #alexolsen (GBR) picked up two podiums each in the Superstock class (BSB STK). #BMW riders continue to dominate the Canadian Superbike Championship (CSBK). They picked up top-three and top-four results at the Atlantic Motorsport Park (CAN). #jordanszoke (CAN) won both races, #samueltrepanier (CAN) and #benyoung (CAN) also finished on the podium. British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch, Great Britain.

The sixth race weekend on the British Superbike Championship (BSB) calendar was held on Britain’s long Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit. Christian Iddon (GBR / Tyco #BMW Motorrad) was the best #BMW rider in both Superbike class (BSB SBK) races. He was in podium contention for much of the first race, ultimately crossing the finish line in fifth place. Iddon finished sixth in race two. Peter Hickman (GBR / Smiths #racing BMW) finished in sixth and tenth places. Iddon’s team-mate Michael Laverty (GBR) finished the two races in tenth and eleventh.

In the Superstock class (BSB STK), three races were held at Brands Hatch: two consecutive races on Saturday, with half the number of points being awarded for each race, and one on Sunday. In the first race on Saturday, #keithfarmer (GBR / Tyco #BMW Motorrad) finished second on the podium. In race two, Farmer set the fastest lap before retiring but ASTRO – JJR Racing’s #alexolsen (GBR) represented #BMW on the podium, in third place. In race three on Sunday, both riders finished on the podium: Farmer was second again with Olsen in third. Farmer retains the lead in the championship standings.

Canadian Superbike Championship at the Atlantic Motorsport Park, Canada.

In the Canadian Superbike Championship (CSBK) at the weekend, #BMW racers continue to set the pace. Two races were held at the fourth and penultimate event of the season, at the Atlantic Motorsport Park (CAN) – ending with top-three and top-four results for the #BMW S 1000 RR. Record champion #jordanszoke (CAN / Mopar Express Lane #BMW Superbike Team) continued his winning streak, finishing first in both races and taking a huge step towards winning his 13th title in the #CSBK

In race one, starting from pole position, Szoke celebrated a clear start-to-finish victory. He finished with a lead of around four seconds over his second-placed fellow #BMW rider #benyoung (CAN / #benyoung Racing). Third place on the podium went to #samueltrepanier (CAN / Blysk Racing).

The second race was a real thriller. Szoke and Trepanier delivered a gripping duel for the win at the front. Trepanier pulled off a plucky manoeuvre to overtake the record champion and take the lead, but made a mistake shortly before the chequered flag. Szoke pounced on the error to clinch his next win with a lead of one thousandth of a second. Finishing in second place, Trepanier equalled his best #CSBK result to date. Young finished third, making it onto the podium again, and Michael Leon (CAN / Royal Distributing #racing Team) rounded off the #BMW top-four result. The season finale, with two more races, will be held at Bowmanville (CAN) in mid-August.

Jordan Szoke: “It’s really awesome to come out on top because we’ve all been working really hard. In race two, Sam pulled off a great pass and I thought maybe he was going to take off, but he made a small mistake there and when you get a chance like that you have to take it. These guys pushed me 100% to my limit, I didn’t slow down at all. This track is just so difficult, but I guess I didn’t do too bad for an old man.”
