Clement Desalle of the Monster Energy #kawasakiracing Team narrowly missed the podium in the British round of the FIM World #mxgp #motocross Championship but consolidated his third place in the series.

The Belgian maintained a lonely fourth place throughout the opening #moto at Matterley Basin in Hampshire but was looking safe in third place in race two until an incident as the front wheel slid out cost him two places on the sixth lap of fourteen. In a solid recovery he maintained good lap times to the close to regain fourth place but just run out of time to take back the third place which would have given him an overall podium. However he has consolidated further his third place in the series standings with a twenty-three point advantage over fourth.

Clement Desalle: “I’m frustrated to miss another podium! In the first race I finished fourth; that was my place as I didn’t found any solution in some sections of the track to go faster and keep the pace with the guys in front of me. My second start was better; I was second for a time until Herlings passed me. It’s always tough to keep him behind but I stayed third and kept focusing on my lines. But then I crashed when my front wheel slid out in a corner and I lost two positions. I didn’t want to give up and I came back behind Febvre and Gajser; I passed Gajser but I ran out of time to try to pass Febvre and get the podium result.”

Tommy Searle made a successful return to the top ten on home soil as he recovers from early season injuries. The Bike It DRT Kawasaki teamster was still a little rusty at the starts but he maintained eighth place for most of the opening #moto until a track marker fouled his rear wheel and cost him one position. Initially eleventh in race two Tommy again moved into the top ten to secure eighth place overall.

Tommy Searle: “I’m happy. It’s nice to get a nice result after all the injuries I had coming into this season. Now I feel a little more myself. I get top results in both races and was always in the top five in the practice sessions this weekend. My starts could have been better, otherwise I think I could have been even better but all in all it’s been a positive weekend. I’m more confident again and I feel there’s a lot more to come now. My season has really started now; I have worked hard to get this far and now it’s time to show what I’m capable of achieving.”

Desalle's KRT teammate Julien Lieber raced to eighth place in the opening, while Alessandro Lupino of Gebben Van Venrooy #kawasakiracing finished seventh in race two and his teammate Maxime Desprey recorded a seventeenth placed finish in each #moto.
