Rüsselsheim. Opel’s light commercial vehicles are on the road to success. Last year, Vivaro, Movano and Combo registered their highest sales figures across Europe and the highest market share in the #lcv segment since 2008. And the first six months of 2016 were even more successful – sales of the three models in the first half-year were up by 8.4 percent to 58,226 units. The foundations for this positive trend can be found in the fact that #opel offer a diverse variety of light commercial vehicles and can fulfil almost every customer wish. #opel will present the entire range of its comprehensive offer at the #iaa Commercial Vehicles in Hannover from September 22 to 29. CorsaVan, Combo, Vivaro and Movano will be on show at the #opel booth (D22) in hall 12 along with numerous special purpose vehicles and conversions.
To ensure that the portfolio meets even more individual needs, #opel has added a desirable newcomer: The #opel #vivarosport combines dynamic design with the usual practicality of an #lcv and subtle details. The #vivarosport is the all-rounder with sporting elegance. The new variant, that will be available as a combi, #van and doublecab and in two lengths, will make its debut alongside numerous other #opel models at the #iaa Commercial Vehicles in Hannover from September 22 to 29.
“The #opel #vivarosport is the #lcv highlight for our especially active customers,” said Steffen Rasching, Opel/Vauxhall Director Commercial Vehicles. “This exclusive variant once again demonstrates that commercial vehicles are no longer just practical work horses or voluminous multi-talent. They now offer elegance and comfort at passenger car level – including comprehensive standard equipment and athletic design.”
The new #vivarosport offers design and equipment details that are not necessarily expected in this vehicle class as standard. Silver or black decorative strips complement selected paintworks. They adorn the side of the vehicle along with the hood and the roof giving the Vivaro a dynamic optic. 17-inch aluminum wheels – optionally also available in black – emphasize the sporting appearance. The headlamps sparkle with energy-saving LED daytime running lights; fog lights are also included.
Privacy glazing for the side and rear windows protects passengers of the Combi variant from the sun and prying eyes. Furthermore, the standard air-conditioning ensures pleasant temperatures on the inside. Optional leather fittings and velours mats with contrasting white stitching refine the ambience even further. #vivarosport passengers are well entertained with the modern Navi 50 IntelliLink infotainment system. Bluetooth audio streaming is just as possible as automatic music recognition for audio devices with USB port or voice control via Siri for compatible Apple devices. Customers will shortly also be able to choose the new Navi80 IntelliLink system, making its debut at the #iaa, as an option. Minute-by-minute real-time traffic information that shows traffic congestion, accurate to within 100 meters, and can suggest alternative routes is available thanks to free internet connectivity (until 2021). This enables business customers to save valuable time and costs. Adaptive cruise control with speed limiter guarantees a relaxing drive and the Rear Park Assist based on ultra-sonic sensors protects against unwanted bumps when parking.
The #vivarosport also demonstrates its talents in the luggage compartment. The optional “Sport” cargo kit gives the cargo area style and protection with dark-grey side panels, practical storage compartments and blue ambience lighting.
The powerful and efficient BiTurbo engine with 92 kW/125 hp or 107 kW/145 hp ensure the corresponding driving dynamics (Fuel consumption urban 8.0-6.4 l/100 km, extra-urban 6.0-5.3 l/100 km, combined 6.7-5.7 l/100 km; CO2 emissions combined 174-149 g/km). With ultra-modern technology under the hood, comprehensive equipment and subtle design details, the #opel #vivarosport poses an alternative for those who want to combine the volume of a light commercial vehicle with passenger car comfort and sporting appearance for an attractive entry-level price of €28,800 (RRP excluding VAT in Germany).
