Maruti Suzuki reaches 10 million domestic sales mark
Car market leader Maruti Suzuki India Limited passed the 10 million cumulative domestic sales mark. It is the only automotive company in India to have reached this milestone.
The 10 millionth vehicle, a Red Swift Vxi, was dispatched to Coimbatore from the company’s Manesar plant yesterday morning (February 9, 2012).
The company, which rolled out its first car in December 1983, posted domestic sales of five million vehicles in February 2006. This means that the next five million domestic sales have been achieved within just six years.
