CUPRA welcomes Lucas di Grassi as its newest brand ambassador
- The Brazilian driver shares the brand’s core values and joins the Tribe to strengthen CUPRA’s presence in the e-racing world.
- Di Grassi is an advocate of electric motorsport and has experienced the evolution of Formula E since its beginning.
- Lucas di Grassi will take the wheel alongside Nico Müller at the kick-off race of the ABB FIA Formula E 2024 in Mexico City (13 January).
The CUPRA Tribe has welcomed Lucas di Grassi, the most successful Formula E driver in history, who becomes an official brand ambassador to inspire the world of electric racing through talent, performance, and passion. Always ready for new challenges, the renowned driver will join the ABT CUPRA FE team for the new season, which kicks-off in Mexico City on 13 January, sharing the brand’s ambition to improve on last season’s results.

Lucas di Grassi has experienced the evolution of electric racing from the beginning and has become one of the most famous Formula E figures of all time. With 40 podiums, 13 victories and 12 fastest laps, the 39-year-old Brazilian continues racking up victories and inspiring the racing world. He is one of only two drivers to have been on the podium at least once in every season. He won the Drivers’ Championship in the third season (2016/2017) and the Team Championship a year later.
“I am excited to start this new season in Formula E with CUPRA, we are both working towards electrification. I believe we can create a more exciting future for everyone, especially for the younger generation who will take over the world in a few decades. Building something together with CUPRA, which believes in this message, is very exciting for me,” said Lucas di Grassi. The driver frequently participates in programmes and podcasts to reach the car-loving audiences and teach people about the importance of electrification and sustainability.
Alongside the Swiss driver Nico Müller, the Brazilian will take on the challenge of driving the Gen3 –which is the fastest, lightest, most powerful, efficient, and sustainable electric single-seater racing car ever created– on one of the most-loved circuits on the Formula E calendar, the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City.
The ABT CUPRA team is fully charged and ready for the opening round of the 2024 season on 13 January. In the 2024 season, the team will be creating new emotions and experiences at all the stunning venues worldwide which will be hosting the most prestigious e-racing competition in the sporting calendar.
