Prodina Racing – An unlucky WorldSSP300 Race 2 at Barcellona

The second round of the #worldssp300 championship has concluded today at the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit in Spain, with the weekend's second and final race. Yesterday, #samueldisora ran a strong race, battling at the front for the duration and reaching the second step of the podium, missing out on the win by just a fraction of a second. #mattiamartella was not so lucky, unfortunately finishing his race in the gravel.
Race two played out on Sunday afternoon, with the French rider starting from row four of the grid and the Italian from row six. Martella had a difficult race, despite making a good start. Following an infraction in yesterday's race, the rider had to serve two long lap penalties today that compromised his race, which he finished in twenty-first place.
Di Sora was also unlucky today. The Italian made a strong start and was straight up among the frontrunners. He set the fastest lap of the race and was demonstrating very strong pace. Unfortunately he then received a penalty for having exceeded the track limits and this caused him to lose many positions. In pushing to catch up, the Frenchman crashed and ended up in the gravel.
Despite the setbacks, #samueldisora holds third place in the championship standings, with a tally of 50 points. It will be important for him and the team to prepare properly for the next championship round.
The #prodinaracingteam will compete in next weekend's Italian CIV championship round at Mugello, while the next #worldssp300 round will take place in a month's time at the Misano World Circuit.

Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya - Supersport300 World Championship

Race 4: 1) GENNAI (Yamaha) – 2) VANNUCCI (Yamaha) - 3) BUIS (Kawasaki).. ... 21) MARTELLA (Kawasaki) ... DNF) DI SORA (Kawasaki)

Samuel Di Sora: "We were unlucky in today's race, with race direction taking a decision that I respect, but do not agree with. I'm disappointed because we started really well and were very competitive, having set the fastest lap again today. We had the potential to replicate yesterday's result, if not more. We'll aim to do well at Misano anyway, which is the team's home round. Thanks to the team and all the sponsors."

Mattia Martella: "We already knew before we began that today's race would be tough, even more so than others, due to the two long lap penalties we had to serve. We made a good start and I made up a few positions but we were all quite close. Once I'd done the penalties I lost contact with the group and found myself alone, and it was very difficult to catch up. Thanks to the team and all the sponsors."
