CUPRA is partnering with the 2023 #raceofchampions. The unconventional challenger brand will take the all-electric #cupraurbanrebel #racing Concept to one of the most competitive race events to find out who is the very best #racing driver on the planet.
The event is a knockout competition bringing together some of the world’s greatest drivers to battle it out through a series of head-to-head races in identical cars, in a bid to be crowned ‘Champion of Champions’.
At this year’s edition, held in Pite Havsbad, 60 miles from the Arctic Circle in northern Sweden, competitors will take the wheel of two #cupra UrbanRacing Concept, the 100% electric #racing car. A vehicle that is the embodiment of what electrification and performance can achieve.
The #cupraurbanrebel Concept is designed for the track, with competition at its very centre, delivering 250kW (340PS) of continuous power and up to 320kW (435PS) at its peak. It can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in only 3.2 secs.
“The #cupraurbanrebel #racing Concept is the personification of what is achievable when you combine #racing and electrification, and the #raceofchampions is the ultimate event to show the excitement it can deliver with the best drivers from around the world behind the wheel,” said Antonino Labate, Director of Strategy and Business Operations at #cupra.
This year’s #raceofchampions will be the most extreme yet. The track is built on the frozen Baltic Sea, and the SNOW+ICE course will use an incredible parallel track and cross-over bridge to maximise the race experience.
Some of the world's best drivers from the major motor sport series – including Multiple Formula 1 World Champions Mika Hakkinen and Sebastian Vettel, W Series Champion Jamie Chadwick, World Rally and Rallycross Champions Johan Kristoffersson, Petter Solberg, Travis Pastrana – will come together for a unique chance to compete head-to-head in identical cars to decide who really is the fastest of them all.
The #raceofchampions take place on the 28th and 29th January at Pite Havsbad, 60 miles from the Arctic Cicle in Sweden.
