First well-deserved point for Bernardi in the wet at Phillip Island

Saturday was marred by bad weather for the #cmracingteam and #lucabernardi, but positive nonetheless. In Race 1 in fact the San Marino rider managed to score his first point of the season in the category, thanks to a 15th place obtained with intelligence and concentration.

After a Superpole held on a damp and continuously drying track, where Bernardi gained 23rd position, the bad weather made itself felt again on the Australian track, forcing the riders to dispute Race 1 in completely wet conditions.

Having made a good start Bernardi immediately had to deal with an off-track incident between Turn 1 and Turn 2, which forced him to climb from the back of the pack. With patience and attention Luca gained positions, until he reached the 15th final position.

Tomorrow the #cmracingteam will be back on track for the last time this season: the warm-up will start at 00.55 CET, while at 04.30 the lights will go out for Race 2.

Luca Bernardi: "It wasn't an easy race, as it never is in wet conditions. After the digression out of the track at the start I'm glad I didn't make any mistakes, and the first point in the championship is a small injection of confidence ahead of tomorrow".

Manuel Cappelletti (Team Director): "I am satisfied with the improvement between yesterday and today, just as I am happy for Luca and the team that the first point has arrived. Obviously we want more, and we will try to finish on a high note tomorrow”.
