First day of action for the Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team in San Juan: top ten for Sebestyen, first approach for Baldassarri


A new race weekend is officially underway for the Evan Bros. #worldssp Yamaha Team, on track at the #sanjuan Villicum circuit for the first two free practice sessions. Two important sessions to start getting to grips with the track and its conditions, with #petersebestyen and #lorenzobaldassarri able to take 10th and 11th respectively in the combined standings.

FP1 was staged in the morning. Sebestyen started his weekend on the right foot, mindful of the good things he showed last year, completing 17 total laps and taking 6th position. Baldassarri used the session to learn the layout of the track: 18 laps completed, with 7th position as his final result.

The work of the two Evan Bros. #worldssp Yamaha Team riders continued in the afternoon FP2 session. Both Lorenzo and Peter put in 19 laps, finishing 10th and 13th, without being able to improve on their morning times.

The Evan Bros. #worldssp Yamaha Team is now ready for Day 2, which will see the Superpole (16.25 CET) and Race 1 (18.30 CET), which will last 19 laps.

Lorenzo Baldassarri: "It was a positive day, first of all because I like the track, so I adapted quickly. In FP2 we did some testing: looking ahead to tomorrow I'm confident, as we're already close to the front guys".

Peter Sebestyen: "In FP1 I really enjoyed my time on the track, having the best bike of the season. In the afternoon the conditions changed considerably, which stopped us from improving: we have to understand what didn't work, but I'm really motivated and ready to give my best".
