CM Racing Team and Luca Bernardi conquer precious points in Assen Race 1

A bittersweet Saturday for the #cmracingteam and #lucabernardi, who took to the track in Assen for the first of the two races scheduled for the weekend. After conquering a positive top ten in the Superpole, Bernardi struggled a little during the race, but still gained useful points thanks to his 12th position.

Day 2 in the Netherlands opened with Superpole, where Bernardi was able to improve the set-up of his Yamaha YZF-R6, proving to be fast throughout the session. The number 29 set his personal best time on the last available lap, taking tenth place and therefore the fourth row of the grid.

Having gained a position on the grid due to Soomer's defection, Bernardi made a good start, crossing the line eighth at the end of the first lap. In the following laps the rider from San Marino had some difficulties, which forced him to give up some positions: during the 13th lap Bernardi had a contact with Takala, with the Finnish rider on the ground and Luca forced to serve a long lap penalty and to settle for the 12th final place.

Tomorrow the second and last race day for the #cmracingteam, which will face first the warm up (9.25), then Race 2 (12.30). The latter will be visible live on Sky Sport MotoGP, channel 208 of the Sky platform.

Luca Bernardi: "I was able to find the right set up for the race, but in the first laps with a full tank I struggled and lost positions. In the following laps I tried to manage the tyres, but at the end the contact with Takala forced me to serve a long lap penalty. It wasn't the race I wanted, but now I just want to work with the team ahead of tomorrow, when we'll have a chance to make up for it".
