L’Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team a due punte pronto per la cattedrale della velocità di Assen

Time to get serious again. More than a month after the last round the Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team is ready to hit the track for the fourth round of the 2021 Supersport World Championship, scheduled for this weekend at the historic and fascinating #assen circuit. The reigning World Champion team arrives in the Netherlands after a successful two-day test in Most, and is ready to field its expanded line-up for the first time, with #petersebestyen alongside #stevenodendaal

Odendaal comes into the TT on the back of a strong start to the season, with three wins in the first three races of the season, and with the aim of attacking the top of the overall standings, which is only 17 points away. The South African took advantage of the weeks off to train, but above all to treat his right shoulder, which is getting closer to its best condition after the dislocation suffered in pre-season testing.

For Sebestyen the Dutch round will be his official debut as a member of the Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team, with which he will contest all the remaining rounds of the 2021 season. Peter will use every session to familiarise himself with the team and his Yamaha YZF-R6 as he looks to become one of the fastest riders in the category.

The two Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team riders will open the weekend with FP1 on Friday morning, followed by Superpole and Race 1 on Saturday, with Race 2 scheduled for Sunday. Both the Superpole and the two races will be visible (in Italy) on Sky Sport MotoGP, channel 208 of Sky.

Steven Odendaal: "I'm really looking forward to getting back on track after the summer break. I've been training a lot in the last few weeks, especially regarding my shoulder, in order to be in the best possible condition for #assen and the next rounds. I think we have a challenging weekend ahead of us, but at the same time it could give us great satisfaction: I'll be working together with the team right from the first practice on Friday, to get the best out of both races".

Peter Sebestyen: "I'm really curious to see what this first race weekend with the team can give me, so I can't wait to get started. Of course everything will be different compared to the test: there will be a lot of fast riders and two races to support, but I'm confident and in great condition. The first goal is to enjoy every minute on the track, also thanks to the great calm that the team has already started to transmit to me. Each session will be useful to learn and improve, with the aim of getting the best possible results in the race. I have great confidence in the team and I'm sure we will have fun".

Fabio Evangelista (Team Principal): "The #assen track evokes very sweet memories for us, so we can only be positive ahead of the weekend. Both Steven and Peter have what it takes to be protagonists: the only doubt is related to weather conditions, but even in case of wet conditions we will do our best to be protagonists".
