METZELER and its riders dominate the Portuguese GP. In the Enduro GP the leader is Brad Freeman and there were also victories in the E1, E2, E3, Youth and Junior1 classes.

The 2021 season starts in Portugal in the same place that hosted the last two GPs of last season. METZELER and its riders have been as always protagonists with Steve Holcombe, Brad Freeman, Davide Guarneri, Harry Edmondson, Albin Norrbin and Roni Kytonen.

Marco de Canoveses (Portugal), 21st June 2021, The first round of the FIM Enduro World Championship took place in Marco de Canoveses, a small village a few kilometres from Porto, with a course and three special tests that put all the participating riders to the test due also to some downpours during the race weekend. The riders raced on a slightly slippery terrain, faced the usual rocks and stones typical of Portuguese races and tackled very technical and fast special tests.

In the Enduro GP class Brad Freeman, Beta Factory Enduro Team rider, won the opening day. Another METZELER rider, Steve Holcombe (Team Beta Factory Enduro) was on the podium on both days of competition and Josep Garcia was also third on Day One.

METZELER celebrates the first world victory in the E1 class of Davide Guarneri E/50 Racing Fantic Factory Team. The Fantic rider rode an almost perfect race collecting a second and a first place. Tied on points with leader Davide Guarneri is GasGas factory rider Andrea Verona.  The two METZELER riders are equipped with METZELER MCE 6 DAYS EXTREME.

METZELER factory rider Steve Holcombe (Team Beta Factory Enduro) is dominating the E2 class, but this weekend he found a tough nut to crack. On Day One the British rider scored his first win but will have to contend with KTM factory rider Josep Garcia throughout all the season.

METZELER rider Brad Freeman won both days of racing in the E3 class and is now the full points leader.

In the Junior 1 class, Rony Kytonen (Team Honda RedMoto) took first place on Day 2 and is now the provisional leader, while in the Junior class he is in third place.

METZELER celebrates the successes in the Youth with the Fantic riders Harry Edmondson (Fantic JET Racing) and Albin Narrbin (Fantic Darpa Racing Team) leading the Youth.

Filed the Portuguese race the FIM EnduroGP World Championship will move to Italy to run in Edolo (BS) the second round of the season next weekend 26th and 27th June, 2021.
