2021 ANDALUCIA RALLY - 2nd place for SHERCO!
The Andalusia Rally marked the return to the track for the riders after the last Dakar. After his good finish in the 2021 Dakar, #lorenzosantolino had great expectations for this Andalusian #Event.
Unfortunately, only ten days before the race, he fell heavily in training, and suffered an acromioclavicular dislocation in his shoulder. Lorenzo worked hard to recover as quickly as possible and still make it to the starting line.
He rode cautiously in the prologue, and finished in 5th place, this finish gave him confidence and he won the first stage! He also won the second stage by opening the track and at that time took the lead in the general classification.
In the third stage he rode well, he pulled out all the stops in the last stage but suffered a crash which relegated him to 3rd place on the final day of the race. He climbed to the second step of the podium in this 2021 edition of the Rally of Andalusia.
Rui Goncalves resumed #racing on the rally bike. After the Dakar he had to recover from the injuries he sustained which kept him away from the circuits for two months.
He then resumed competition in the Portuguese Enduro Championship. This rally was an opportunity for him to get back on the 450 SEF Rally bike. Despite some stomach pains from food poisoning, he remained consistent all week and made it into the top 10.
