2021 DAKAR - Stage #9 Neom > Neom
ANOTHER GOOD DAY FOR SANTOLINO, 7th IN THE STAGE!
The 9th stage took place in the sumptuous surroundings of Neom, between grandiose canyons and a beach with the Red Sea in the background. It was another good day for the #Sherco Factory riders, with a 7th place for #lorenzosantolino, who climbed up the general classification, and a remarkable 17th place for #harithnoah, another best performance for our rider from India.
Lorenzo Santolino is staying the course and staying true to the goal he set for himself before the start. He rides clean, at a very good pace and does not take any risks, neither for himself nor for his motorcycle. He finished 7th in the stage and is 8th overall this evening at Neom.
Following his crash, Rui Goncalves left this morning and as a precaution his motorcycle was equipped with a new engine. A few refueling problems caused him to lose some time today, he finished 39th, for a 22nd place overall. Tomorrow is another day, stay courageous Rui!
Harith Noah surprised us today with a superb special time and perfect navigation. He finished 17th on the stage, it is his best result on the Dakar, and this performance brings him back to 25th position in the general classification. Beautiful ride Harith, good job!

We are here in Neom in a typical Dakar bivouac with sand and wind. The conditions are difficult, as much for the mechanics as for the riders. Everyone is giving their all even if the last days have been particularly tough. We know we are on the home stretch before Jeddah.
There are still 3 stages left, with long specials, the whole team remains very focused and we have not lost sight of our objectives.
