Volkswagen of America names Kimberley Gardiner to lead marketing

  • Kimberley joins VW from Mitsubishi Motors to develop and drive marketing as VW adds to its growing lineup in the U.S.
  • She has more than 21 years of #automotive experience including leadership roles at Kia and Toyota

Herndon, VA — #volkswagen of America, Inc. named #kimberleygardiner senior vice president, VW marketing. She starts in her new role November 16.

Kimberley will be responsible for leading marketing for VW, including building on the momentum generated by the introduction of Volkswagen’s first all-electric SUV, the ID. 4. She will report to Duncan Movassaghi, executive vice president, sales and marketing for the VW brand in the U.S.

Kimberley brings more than 21 years of #automotive experience to her new role. She most recently served as the chief marketing officer for Mitsubishi Motors North America. She joined Mitsubishi from Kia Motors America where she directed marketing efforts for the brand. Previously, she served as CMO and Vice President of Operations for 5th Kind, a global digital asset management company.

Before joining 5th Kind, Kimberley was a director of digital and integrated marketing launch strategy for Toyota Motor Sales USA. She spent 15 years with Toyota in a range of roles across marketing, strategy, communications and digital for the Lexus, Scion and Toyota brands. Kimberley holds a bachelor’s degree from Mills College and an MBA from Indiana University.
