It’s a very special year for #mazda, which is putting the spotlight at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show on a century of doing things others dared not – a tradition the company honours today.
Initially a cork maker, #mazda would go on to be the only car manufacturer to make a commercial success of the rotary engine, and the only one to win Le Mans in 1991 with a rotary vehicle. #mazda also revived its brand icon, the fun-to-drive MX-5 roadster, which has sold more than 1 million times since its 1989 debut. And more recently it launched the Skyactiv-X, the world’s first compression-ignition petrol engine.
The next century is starting in the same innovative spirit: On display in Geneva is Mazda’s first battery-electric model, the all-new #mazda #mx30. Featuring the e-Skyactiv electric drive technology and unique Kodo design, the #mx30 also pays tribute to a vibrant sports car heritage with its freestyle rear doors, while cork trim in the cabin harks back to Mazda’s humble beginnings.
Visit our booth (stand 6050 in hall 6) and see the #mx30 up close alongside various 100th anniversary exhibits and of course our current model line-up.
