Momodesign is at the 77th edition of the International Cycle and Motorcycle Exhibition to tell the evolution of its history of #design, research, style, Made in Italy and safety.

AERO: REIVENTING EXPERIENCE

UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF EVOLUTION

The undisputed protagonist of the #momodesign booth remains #aero. While waiting for the new jet, which will go on sale in March 2020, #momodesign completes the range with two colors that emphasize its avant-garde #design, in a decidedly aggressive look: matt gold / grey decal, military green matt / grey decal and chrome green visor. Confirming the innovative #design concept of the #aero helmet, designed to have greater aerodynamics and increase performance, the awards received in 2019 from the world's largest #design competitions:

• RED DOT AWARD: Product #design 2019 - Best of the Best, the top distinction in the competition for #design and innovation. 2019, designers and manufacturers from 55 countries entered more than 5,500 products in the competition. Only 1.5% of the objects entered won a Red Dot: Best of the Best.This award represents an important success for the #momodesign Style Center that with the Jet AERO, introduces a new generation of motorbike helmets, exceeding its principles 
• ADI INDEX: #aero has been selected by the ADI INDEX 2019 for the “Compasso D’Oro 2020”.

The #aero helmet innovation is further completed by an intelligent ventilation system for motorbike helmet with smart control, that can be activated by downloading the app #momodesign TORNADO 1.0 (Android, Apple system). Thanks to this intelligent ventilation system, the motorbike rider can avoid attention decrease while driving, especially in the urban environment. The intended target is not to make the biker remove hands from handle and to maintain invariable the helmet internal temperature, even when air flow is not sufficient, for example while driving below 50km/h or at the red traffic light.This way the helmet becomes an “active” element to increase customer comfort and safety.AERO represents a new way of moving, both in the outskirts and in big cities.

External Visor

The wide Antiscratch and transparent external visor has been realized flush with the shell. The classic external visor movement has been eliminated, and a new visor system of “patent pending” has been projected and patented. The integrated system IVS has been obtained from the space between the shell and the eps, and guarantees a great refinement in figure as far as #design, the absence of aerodynamic whispers as far as comfort, and reduction of the risk that in the #event of sliding the helmet on the asphalt might trip and cause damage to cervical as far as safety. The two springs positioned in the IVS make the visor movement extremely fluent following the rising of the visor while opening, and stopping it while closing, avoiding the fortuitous opening.

Sun Visor

The sun visor is against UV400, it has wide visibility and an internal flush activation mechanism commanded by a running on shell board.

Ventilation System

The canalizations for internal dampness extraction, derived on the Eps, are served by a frontair vent and two back air extractors. AERO is prearranged for the installation of the Tornado Ventilation System (optional).

Tornado Ventilation System

It is a system of forced ventilation with a magnetic levitating fan with a capacity of 5 litres per minute (6 in “turbo” function).

• Loudness limited to 16 db at full capacity.
• 1,8A 3,7 v li-ion battery rechargeable in 1,5 h through micro USB and 1 A power charger.
• System functioning:  8h in urban environment condition between -20 and 40 c°
• Connection through Bluetooth protocol.
• GPS module integrated and temperature probe that registers internal temperature in the upper part of the helmet.

Tornado is not an air conditioned system, dangerous for health, but the process of cooling comes from a natural refreshment of the lining also while stopping at a traffic light or in limited conditions (like in speed less than 50 km/h), thus simulating a running speed of 80 km/h.

MOMODESIGN VENT COMFORT software is programmable from Your smartphone through the APP #momodesign TORNADO 1.0, it is independent and autonomous and runs the magnetic levitated vent in a smart way. 

Through the APP You can set:

• desired temperature (in this case the software decides fan velocity on the basis of the internal temperature and the cruising speed)
• fan control (Fan Control function);
• TURBO VENT function in condition of high temperature guarantees the maximum refreshment (thus reducing battery duration);

For safety reason the system setting can’t be done while Your helmet is in movement, and the parameters are not visible in real time on your smartphone because GPS sensor can figure out when motorbike is moving.

Internal linen and Retention System

Internal stuffing, pudding and cheeckpads are made in treated 2DRY, MICROSENSE and Satinized Actifresh cloth, that can be removed to wash. Retention system: Micrometric buckle.

HORNET, THE SAFETY OF LOOKING AHEAD 

HORNET, is the first #momodesign full-face helmet. Presented during #eicma 2018 it represents the evolution of #momodesign towards a new section of motorbike helmets, the full face; this is a “range revolution”, pushed ahead to satisfy a new category of riders and support its use. #hornet has been projected for the touring-road customer, it embraces #momodesign peculiar stylistic elements: sportsmanship, elegance and technical materials. It is an essential and versatile full-face helmet, thanks to the two versions presented, the one in monochromatic and the one with graphics. It is produced in fiberglass, external shell is in two sizes (internal sizes are from XS to XL) and two EPS sizes. The external visor mechanism has got rapid release and anterior blocking system to reduce the risk of fortuitous opening and closing. The visor is Antiscratch. The internal sun visor can be moved by external activation mechanism. The internal linen, padding and cheek pads are all made in Satinized Actifresh cloth, fully removable and washable. Retention system: Micrometric buckle. The ventilation system is composed by:

• chin air vent;
• two frontal air vents;
• two superior air vents with sliding mechanism;
• two air extractors on the chin guard
• two extractors on back spoiler

EAGLE

Tradition and transversality are the two anchors that distinguish the new jet EAGLE. This model unites #momodesign brand #heritage and spirit of innovation, addressed to catch new kind of customers. EAGLE is also available in PURE version with external shell in monochromatic colours. It is made in thermoplastic material. The external shell is available in two sizes (helmet available sizes:XXS, XS, S, M, ML, L, XL). The internal padding is made with high absorption in micropunctured net fabric, it is removable and washable. It has got pull-out sun visor and chinstrap with micrometric buckle.
