Formula E is back with a bang and has completed its first official test of the 2019/2020 season today in Valencia. The grid is now complete with 24 cars across 12 teams lining up in the Spanish sun to see what everyone has to bring into the sixth season of the all-electric championship.
Mark Preston, #DStecheetah Team Principal : “It’s always interesting to see what everyone has been up to over summer and with two more teams on the grid, it’s been a fun week. We’ve had a successful week as we ran through our planned testing program and integrated Antonio. Although it’s not an indicator of performance, it’s a good sign that we’ve had both our drivers running in the front pack as it’s a pointer that we are prepared for the season to come.”
Xavier Mestelan Pinon, #DS Performance Director : “It was a test session, but even if nobody wants to admit it, it is mainly the first confrontation of the year, rich in lessons. Our drivers are very satisfied with their #DS E-TENSE FE20 and we will now take advantage of the four weeks we have left to optimize all the points that can still be to reach Riyadh with a clear goal, defend our two titles!”
Jean-Éric Vergne, #25 : “I’ve been longing to get back into the car after the summer break, so it’s been good to have some proper outings. We managed to run through most of the things we wanted to with good results. These days are really important for us as we check that all the systems are up to speed and that we don’t have any mechanical issues so that we’re good to for the first race. Now we have a couple of weeks of sim prep and media activities before we go #racing in Diriyah on the 22 November.”
Antonio Felix Da Costa, #13 : “It’s been really good to have a proper go in the #DS E-TENSE FE20 during the last couple of days here in Valencia. It’s very different from the car I had before so it’s going to take some time to get used to the new system but once I have all of that in the bag it’s going to be a fun season.”
