Coldenhoff celebrates successive MXGP wins with Dunlop

  • Glenn Coldenhoff secures successive #mxgp overall victories.
  • Dunlop’s Geomax MX-33 provided riders with improved traction and durability.

  • Pauls Jonass finished third overall in the #mxgp class.

The Standing Construct KTM and #Dunlop rider, Glenn Coldenhoff made it back to back FIM World Motocross Championship (MXGP) wins in Sweden.

The Dutch rider dominated race 1 after taking the lead in the early stages, the #mxgp of Italy overall winner showed supreme confidence on the hard-packed Uddevalla circuit to secure victory.

In race 2, Coldenhoff demonstrated an impressive turn of speed and overtaking ability to take second place after initially dropping down the field. A victory and a second-place finish was enough for the KTM rider to take his second consecutive overall victory and move him up to fourth in the World Championship Classifications.

Building on the success from the previous round, Standing Construct KTM looked to be benefiting from #Dunlop tyres’ improved traction on the sand and hard-packed terrains after the team decided to switch to the tyre supplier at the start of the season.

Dunlop’s Geomax MX-33 tyre has given teams the confidence that they can perform in tricky conditions especially in the latter races of the season. The intermediate-to-soft terrain tyre has proven to have both lasting performance and durability at World Championship level this season.

Eddy Seel, Dunlop’s #mxgp Event Leader stated: “The Geomax MX-33 traction and durability helped Coldenhoff challenge for victories. The MX-33 worked very well providing a lot of grip on a tricky track, subsequently giving riders a lot more confidence in acceleration out of slow corners."

As well as Coldenhoff’s overall victory fellow #Dunlop rider Pauls Jonass rounded out the podium places finishing third overall and highlighting an impressive day for Dunlop riders in the #mxgp class.

The next round of the FIM World Motocross Championship comes from Afyon, Turkey on September 8.
