British supercar innovation will come face to face with Italian motoring passion when #mclaren Automotive’s elegant new #mclaren GT cruises into Italy’s “motor city” from 19 June to 23 June for its national premiere. The new gran turismo from Woking, UK, is set to star at Turin’s popular Salone Auto #torino in the spectacular surroundings of Parco Valentino.

Over 600,000 visitors are expected at the open-air supercar show at which #mclaren has presented a new model for the Italian market every year since the first edition in 2015.

This year’s debut of the #mclaren GT for Italian supercar lovers is especially significant, marking the first time the luxury sportscar and supercar brand has purposely designed a model for Grand Touring. The #mclaren GT combines classic touring attributes of refinement and comfort with the design drama, dynamism and driver engagement of a true #mclaren supercar.

“The #mclaren GT redefines the Grand Touring segment by combining extreme performance with outstanding ride comfort and segment-leading cabin refinement. It is an important new model for #mclaren and Parco Valentino is the best place to launch this a car and present it to our Italian customers and enthusiasts. We have presented a new model every year at this beautiful open-air exhibition and we are convinced the public will appreciate discovering the #mclaren GT ‘s elegant design and attributes. We are convinced the #mclaren GT will find a place in the hearts of Italy’s car lovers.”

David Gilbert, Managing Director Europe, #mclaren Automotive

The GT model selected to showcase McLaren’s take on Grand Touring is a Luxe specification car finished in stunning Burnished Copper. It is fitted with 15-spoke Gloss Black diamond-cut alloy wheels and the optional panoramic electrochromic glass roof – which at the press of a button can even take the heat out of the midday sun in Italy. The Porcelain Blue leather interior contrasts beautifully with the exterior to create a look that is both stunning and sophisticated. The spacious cabin features a leather-finished rear luggage area and controls in finely-crafted machined, brushed and knurled aluminium.

While the powered-lift glass tailgate offers easy access to a luggage deck that can accommodate skis and golf clubs as well as bags, the #mclaren GT remains a paragon of dynamic ability. With light weight for maximum agility and McLaren’s 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 in new 620PS form, the GT’s performance is as breath-taking as its design, with 0-200km/h in just 9.0 seconds and a top speed of 326km/h (203mph).

“The #mclaren GT is in a new segment for #mclaren and will attract new customers to the brand in Italy. It is a privilege to present the car for the first time at Parco Valentino. For the past five years we have chosen Parco Valentino as the stage for our national premieres and its backdrop of excitement, passion and beauty reflects the new #mclaren GT perfectly. I am really looking forward to driving the model on our beautiful roads in Italy.”
