“ The light commercial vehicles market, in which the Brand has always blazed a trail with iconic designs, is very strategic for Citroën. With its new range #Jumper 2019 modernised and more closely attuned to customer expectations, Citroën adapts its range like for New #berlingovan and Jumpy to all needs on work sites, on the open road, or in the city.”
Linda Jackson, CEO of Citroën
01 – A CENTENARY BRAND : A RECOGNISED KNOW-HOW
With its 100-year history and rich heritage, the Brand has always provided an adapted response to the changing behaviour of motorists. Present in the light commercial vehicles (LCV) market since 1928, and having launched pioneering models including the C4 Van, Type H and 2 CV Van, the Brand boasts recognised legitimacy in the van and small-van segments.
The #lcv market is strategic to Citroën.
-The Citroën brand reached growth of 3.5% in the European #lcv market in 2018, outperforming the market’s 3.0% rise, for a 9.5% market share. The Brand moved up a spot in the rankings of the top-selling brands in Europe, joining the Top 5. The momentum was driven by the European success of recent launches including Jumpy/SpaceTourer, with over 140,000 sales since launch in 2016, and New Berlingo Van/Berlingo, which has already sold in over 80,000 units since launch in September 2018.
-In France, Citroën reached the strongest growth of any French brand in first-quarter 2019, considerably outpacing the market (+5.6% vs. +0.2%). Citroën sold nearly 18,600 LCVs in the first quarter, for a 15.2% share of the market.
02 – NEW #Jumper RANGE : BESPOKE COMFORT
The #Jumper van, a robust model with impressive load volume, has been upgraded and the range extended to adapt to all needs.
Responding to the requirements of numerous trades, Citroën #Jumper range comprises a broad array of body styles, with four lengths (L1, L2, L3, L4) on three wheelbases (3.00 m, 3.45 m, 4.04 m) and with three possible heights (H1, H2, H3). #Jumper is available in a total of eight body styles from 8 m3 to 17m3 for the panelled van and 5 to 9 seats for the Combi. Citroën #Jumper boasts resolutely contemporary styling and class-leading comfort. The front end is dynamic and robust, with headlights featuring LED daytime running lights. The architecture and ergonomics of the optimally designed driver’s station make the car a cinch to use and, importantly, make everyday loading much easier thanks to an optimum access and an impressive useful volume/exterior dimensions ratio.
New range fine-tuned for different needs
Jumper targets a broad range of professionals, from self-employed tradespeople to the construction, delivery and service industries, as well as local authorities. Serving as a true office on wheels, it builds on its strong points by providing a needs-adapted solution to each business segment with bespoke interior comfort on work sites, on the open road, or in the city and customised configurations. The new model has moved upmarket in line with usage and boasts an extensive set of options.
Faithful to the Brand baseline, “Inspired by You”, the Citroën #Jumper range is fine-tuned to different motoring needs, following in the footsteps of New #berlingovan, recently voted International Van of the Year, and Citroën Jumpy. The #Jumper range now comprises 4 versions, two of them new: Worker and Driver. The latter differ both in terms of philosophy and usage, and stand apart through specific features.
-Jumper WORKER targets professionals transporting equipment and employees on all types of work sites, often difficult to access. Recognisable through its black wheel arches, sub-engine protection plate, front mud flaps (all body styles) and rear mud flaps (vans), it also boasts improved grip with the Intelligent Traction Control system combined with all-season tyres and Hill Assist Control. Cabin equipment includes front air conditioning with a ventilated glove box, an audio system with a Bluetooth® hands-free kit and USB socket, a cruise control/speed limiter function, and a dashboard-mounted writing tablet.
-Jumper DRIVER is designed for companies and their employees required to make long journeys or numerous deliveries both in and out of the city. It stands out with its driving comfort, reinforced by the following equipment: a USB charging socket, fog lamps, reversing camera, navigation system and Safety Pack (including the Active Safety Brake, Lane Departure Warning System, automatic dipped-beam headlamps, intelligent beam headlamps, automatic front wiper and the speed sign recognition system).
Orders are already open for these new versions, which feature alongside the new entry-level range and core range called CONTROL (ABS, ESP, driver airbag, Hill-start Assist, 12V socket, full-panel partition) and CLUB (rear park assist, MP3 audio system on a 5-inch colour screen, driver’s seat with arm rest, height adjustment and lumbar adjustment). All of which makes Citroën #Jumper an essential partner to professionals customer with varied business activities and needs, in a particularly demanding #lcv market.
New modern equipment
With its “across-the-board expertise”, Citroën #Jumper was designed to bring professional customers living comfort and driving comfort. To that end, it features a generous and practical interior space, numerous and ingenious storage spaces, comfortable seats, and useful information. It has been upgraded to provide robustness, easy loading, modular design, connectivity technologies and driver assistance systems. As part of the Citroën Advanced Comfort® programme and for greater peace of mind for self-employed tradespeople and delivery professionals, the 2019 #Jumper range has been enriched with new equipment for enhanced comfort, safety and manoeuvrability.
Citroën #Jumper is now equipped with the blind spot monitoring system (taking account of trailers) and rear traffic alert, (which detects vehicles 50 metres away coming from the left or right when drivers shift into reverse). #Jumper is also now fitted as standard with Citroën Connect Box (including fuel consumption monitoring, vehicle tracking in the #Event of theft, permanent vehicle localisation for fleets, maintenance monitoring and eco-driving) as well as an Alpine radio-navigation system on a 9-inch screen compatible with Waze and with a simultaneous Bluetooth®connection for two telephones (depending on market).
New Euro 6 engines
Like New #berlingovan and Jumpy, the new #Jumper range adapts to all types of use, both urban and non-urban, and possesses in addition to consummately-treated acoustics and unrivalled suspension comfort, a dynamic road behaviour, enhanced driving pleasure and optimised cost in use. The upgrades were introduced in anticipation of the new Euro 6 standard, with latest-generation engines efficient in terms of fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The more virtuous 2.2L BlueHDi engine replaces the current 2.0L. It is available with a six-speed manual gearbox and three power levels ranging from 120 to 165 hp: BlueHDi 120 S&S 6-speed manual, BlueHDi 140 S&S 6-speed manual, BlueHDi 165 S&S 6-speed manual.
03 – CITROËN #Jumper ELECTRIC : UPCOMING FULL ELECTRIC VERSION
Fully in tune with its times, Citroën #Jumper is taking things even further. For an optimal urban circulation regardless of the regulation, Citroën is confirming the launch in the next few months of a full electric version of #Jumper van, world revealed at the Birmingham Commercial Vehicle Show at the end of April. Manufactured in Italy at the Sevel site in Val di Sangro and electrified and certified by our partner BD #auto, Citroën #Jumper Electric will supplement the full electric range for professionals alongside Citroën Berlingo Electric. This development reasserts the Brand’s ambition to market an electrified version of each of its models by 2025, passenger cars and LCVs alike.
With no compromises on driving performance or useful features, the new “zero-emission” offering will stand as a real competitive advantage for professional customers and their varied daily requirements, with:
