Krummenacher scores the Superpole at Imola ahead of Caricasulo
The second day of round five of this Supersport world championship played out today at the Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit in #imola, the Bardahl Evan Bros #worldssp Team taking part in the final free practice and Superpole.
Yesterday, the two Bardahl Evan Bros #worldssp Team riders #federicocaricasulo and #randykrummenacher had finished practice in first and third place respectively, despite both having suffered crashes, though luckily without any physical consequences.
In this morning's final free practice session, Caricasulo improved on yesterday's time (1'51"054) to retain first place, while Krummenacher (1'52"138) was unable to lower this time and concluded third.
During the Superpole, which took place in the late morning, team Bardahl Evan Bros. scored another fantastic double. #randykrummenacher set the fastest lap (1'50"239) followed by his team-mate #federicocaricasulo four tenths behind (1'50"671). With this extraordinary performance, the Swiss rider also set a new lap record, beating the previous record that has stood since 2013.
Tomorrow Randy will start from pole position, his team-mate Federico right next to him, in the 17-lap race that looks likely to take place in wet conditions.
