Okubo fifth and Mahias seventh in World SSP Superpole at Imola
The two Kawasaki Puccetti #racing riders #hikariokubo and #lucasmahias are on track at the Enzo e Dino Ferrari Circuit in #imola, having taken part in today's free practice and Superpole making up this fifth round of the Supersport world championship.
Mahias finished yesterday's practices in fifth place, Okubo ninth. This morning, in the third and final free practice, neither rider was able to improve on his previous times. The Frenchman finished seventh (1'52"376), while the Japanese rider closed in tenth place (1'52"441).
In the afternoon's Superpole, Okubo was able to improve significantly on his fastest time, and with a best of 1'51"387 he scored fifth position. Mahias also improved, finishing seventh with a time of 1'51"668.
Tomorrow Okubo will line up on the second row of the grid and Mahias on the third in a race that will take place over 17 laps in conditions that could very well be wet.
