NEED FOR SPEED... Sidi riders ready for the Superbike & Supersport World Series

The spectacular Superbike World Series is ready to hit the track again. As has become the tradition in the last several years, the season will open with the Australian GP on the Phillip Island racetrack this weekend. In 2019 the World SBK series will introduce lots of new rules, but the riders are ready to go into battle with the same grit and determination as always.

The riders from the Sidi squadron are eager to stand out. There is particular buzz surrounding the Spanish rider Alvaro Bautista, who is moving up after a long career in the #moto GP to take on a new adventure in the Superbike class. During the first winter tests, which took place first on the Jerez de la Frontera and Portiamo circuits and then in Phillip Island, Alvaro Bautista gave some excellent performances with his Ducati Panigale V4 R, showing impressive competitive form which is surely going to make him a top contender, especially here in Australia for the first race in the 2019 SBK World Series. The Spanish ace from team Aruba.it #racing – Ducati closed out the tests with the best time ahead of everyone. After all, this Australian racetrack is one of Bautista’s favourites; last year he closed out the #moto GP race here in fourth place.

In addition to Alvaro Bautista’s class in the Superbike category, #sidi can also count on two remarkable riders who have proven to be fast and competitive. We are referring to British rider Leon Camier riding the Honda bike from team Moriwaki Althea and the Argentine ace Leandro “Tati” Mercado, who rides the Kawasaki moto for team Orelac #racing VerdNatura.

In conjunction with the Superbike World Series events, races for the Supersport 600 World Series will also hit the scene on the same tracks. In this category Sidi’s attention will be focused entirely on Randy Krummenacher. In pre-season tests the Swiss rider reached impressive speeds on his Yamaha from team Bardahl Evan Bros, showing that he’s got what it takes to be a major contender for the 2019 title in the category.

Thanks to their Sidi boots, when these riders hit the racetrack they can count on the highest level of technology, quality materials and performance without, however, having to sacrifice comfort and safety for their feet. #sidi has always paid close attention to the needs of our riders, supplying them with only the best and taking care of every last minimum detail when it comes to technology and design. Alvaro Bautista has decided to keep using the MAG-1 model he already wore last year in the #moto GP; this means that there is a special feeling between a rider and his boots that almost makes them inseparable.

Leon CamierTati Mercado and Randy Krummenacher have instead chosen the REX. E’ boot, designed and developed by the #sidi Company for speed and track. In addition to offering a modern and cutting-edge design, the structure of this boot synthesises technology, maximum functionality and great quality. It has many highly appealing features, including a remarkably innovative, smooth system that makes it quick and easy to get on and off.
