Nissan Europe appoints Paul James as General Manager of Corporate Communications

  • Paul James will assume the role effective immediately
  • Responsible for Nissan Corporate, Manufacturing Communications and CSR across Europe
 

Nissan in Europe today announced that Paul James has been appointed General Manager, Corporate Communications for Nissan Europe effective immediately.

Paul will be responsible for all Corporate Communications for Nissan across the region. This includes issues and crisis management, executive communications, CSR, digital storytelling and manufacturing communications.

He will report to Jesse Verstraete, Vice President Communications, Nissan Europe, who said: “Paul will be a great addition to the communications leadership team as we continue to transform our discipline in support of the wider business and grow into new areas with new stories to tell.”

Nissan is driving some of the world’s most significant future technologies in the evolving automotive landscape, such as electric vehicles and autonomous drive, and Paul will lead the charge in ensuring the company’s progress is communicated to a broad corporate audience.

A former journalist, Paul began his career at Nissan in 2010 as the Nissan Motor Manufacturing UK (NMUK) communications lead, moving to the role of Manager for European Manufacturing Communications, in 2015, overseeing Nissan’s operations in the UK, Spain and Russia. During this time, Paul has built a strong team and professionalised the function across the region. 

Paul will be based at the company’s European headquarters in Montigny-le-Bretonneux, south of Paris. He succeeds Jesse Verstraete who was recently appointed Vice President of Communications for Nissan Europe.
